The hotel was in the process of being painted and updated when we stayed and is under new management. This bodes well for future stays and I look forward to the new look West House Country Hotel! The bedlinen was crisp and fresh and the bathroom really clean and although there were contractors on site there was no noise. The...

The place is very outdated and in desperate need of a redo which perhaps explains the renovations going on when we arrived. However, the smell of paint was a put off. The room was nice and clean though there were a few stains on the carpet. Bathroom very modern. Now we come to breakfast! The menu in the room states...

It took 45 minutes to make scrambled eggs for the time I ordered and when it arrived all I could taste was pepper. The was just horrible and butter was so hard that it was difficult to spread on. The fire alarm went off and the staff were running like headless chickens! No vegetarian sausage options, no pork free sausages....

I find some of the recent reviews very strange. We arrived on Friday lunchtime as I was an usher at my friends wedding. I had received a courtesy call a week prior to arriving and we were welcomed woth a smile and a positive attitude. The room was clean and with fresh bedding on both days of our stay. My...

We had booked before the hotel had changed its hands and were not informed. We were told that evening meals would not be served but breakfast would. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and met by a charming young lady who explained the situation. The rooms were clean with lovely white bed linen and the shower room also clean, no problem...

I was travelling with my wife to see family in Llantwit Major area for four nights from 15th November to 19th.. the stay was on a bed and breakfast basis ... The hotel was well placed for the purpose being just outside the town centre. there was also a good sized car park directly opposite. We stayed in room 14...

If you're in Llantwitt Major for the night (or a couple) the West House is a quiet spot with a B&B feel. It's a family-run establishment with that sort of warm hospitality that's lacking in most places. If you're into modern establishments you'll be disappointed as the hotel is dated but reasonably maintained. It's only 5 minutes to the village...

Nice hotel in a quiet location. The property used to be an old Manor House, room we stayed in had been modernised. Good shower, clean, bed soft, lots of parking. No restaurant in evenings but plenty of close pubs around. Breakfast bacon had seen better days, but rest was good. Nice local walks. Bar had good prices in evening.
