Globales Tamaimo Tropical hotel boasts a vibrant atmosphere that captivates guests with lively poolside entertainment, though the noise can be a bit much for some. A number of guests have commented on the spacious and clean rooms, despite occasional issues with noise and critters. The hotel's service has received mixed reviews, with compliments for friendly interactions but also reports of long waits and sporadic rudeness.
While the amenities, including two pools and various dining options, generally meet expectations, travelers suggest there's room for improvement. The picturesque location is well-liked, though the hilly terrain may pose a challenge for some visitors.

We booked through TUI and got a bargain deal for All Inclusive for a week. As it was cheap I wasn't sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel.
The location is in Puerto de Santiago, near Los Gigantes which is a quiet area on the west of the island. There are bars and restaurants nearby but it's not close to any major attractions so it's a bit of a drive/bus journey to get anywhere.
The hotel itself is quite big and it's not that easy to get around. Although there was a lift to the third floor, our room (390 - Block H) would have been impossible to get to without going up some stairs so mention to reception if you have any mobility issues. The room had a balcony that looked out over the quiet pool but was also close to the Disco Bar so it got quite loud at night. The bedroom was on the road side so there was alot of morning noise from people going past. The room was a mini apartment with separate bedroom and bathroom and a large living space. The living space had a sofa and TV but looked oddly empty like something had been removed. All very clean though and lots of storage space. The cleaners come every day except Sundays. On the last day when we didn't have to check out until 12 they kept trying to clean the room despite the do not disturb sign being on the door.
The food was great, lots of choice even for vegetarians and you can serve your own wine and beer at dinner as well as regular drinks. The bar also had plenty of options for drink. There were two restaurants plus a snack bar that was open until 6 which served cooked food as well so there was never really a time (except overnight) that you couldn't get food.
We didn't really get too involved in the entertainment, but there were daytime activities by the main pool and night time entertainment in the disco bar pretty much every day.
Overall we had a great stay, Pros are the food, the staff and the room and Cons are the noise and the layout of the hotel. Would happily stay here again.

I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Suneo Tamaimo Tropical with my mum and sisters and we had an amazing holiday.
The room was spacious, plenty of room for all 4 of us and the location could not have been more perfect for us. Although we were in a room near the "noisier" pool which had the music and day time activities, this meant that we were not around the pool that is near to the night time entertainment.
Our room was cleaned by a lovely lady called Sandra. She was so smiley, and always had a Hola for us when we saw her. we have no complaints about her work, and really appreciate the nice little touches (laying our pj's on our beds).
I just wish we had known that we could have a kettle in our room at the beginning of our stay as the walk from the bar to our room was quite long so couldn't enjoy a cup of tea in our room.
We booked a couple of trips with the Tui reps. Sam was so pleasant and helpful, she seemed to really know her stuff about the Island. We also listened to her welcome speech and she was so enthusiastic about the island it got us excited about activities we could do.
The main restaurant was lovely, so much choice, they even had a few themes to the food, but still gave plenty of choice if you didn't like the theme. we didn't have any issues finding a table and always managed a table near the end of an aisle (which we needed due to mobility issues with one of our party).
The snack food bar was available all day and was a nice alternative if you didn't want to go into the restaurant, or if you needed lunch outside the restaurant open times (one day we were on a trip and returned just after 3, and on the day we left we needed to leave just after 1pm) The only downside with the food in the snack bar was that it was not as hot.
There was plenty of bins located around the pools so that when you finished with your plates and cups it was easy to tidy up after yourself.
The pool areas were tidied every evening, and the sunbeds stacked away (and chained until 8am to stop people reserving beds the night before or early in the morning), they sprayed the floor each evening and i saw them sweeping any fallen leaves in the morning meaning that any food or spillages from the day were cleaned away each day).
The entertainment was very typical of a Hotel of this kind, but the entertainers always looked happy, and engaged with the holiday makers. There was 3 members of the team finishing when we were there, 2 of them had amazing singing voices and the team leader (Italian Stallion) was so funny. I just hope the remaining entertainers can continue the good work. There was a different girl (who i believe is new) who sang and she was also amazing. The only issue with the evening entertainment bar is the columns, they really do block the view of the stage.
Many of the photos on trip advisor are before the refurbishment that was done last year, therefore, the hotel looks so much fresher, especially the balconies.
Overall, i would not hesitate to return to the hotel with my husband and children.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
I have previously stayed at the Tamaimo Tropical in December 2017, prior to renovations. Upon getting to the hotel the make over it has had was evident: very clean and modern reception space, plenty of room to sit and relax. We were greeted by your reception staff, all of whom were extremely polite and welcoming throughout our stay. The safe is only a deposit and you do not have to pay a day rate which is a lovely extra. There is also free WiFi available in the reception area.
We were situated on the second floor (same as reception), our rooms were good. Clean and kept tidy by the cleaners who were lovely, they have been modernised and we found plenty of wardrobe space, no problems with hot water or any insects within our room. Our main issue was the amount of noise at night that echoed right down the corridor, however this is out of the hotels control. Balcony door locked fine as did the other rooms, a pleasant room for the price.
The dining room has a wide selection of foods, much to my surprise catering more so to vegetarians like myself than other hotels I have previously stayed in. The dining room can become very chaotic with small narrow gaps between tables, which can be difficult to manoeuvre around as a member of our party has a disability. The dining room staff were friendly, understanding and very attentive to others needs. There is alcohol hand rub available which we liked due to knowing about the airborne virus’ that circulate the island this time of year.
There are two pools: one with music and activities and a quieter pool which we relaxed at. No complaints, the life guards were helpful with sun beds and umbrellas. The pool around the quieter area is very very cold- I have heard others say the other pool is much warmer. There are drinks available all inclusive from both bars, which means less walking and more relaxing!
We did not watch the night-time entertainment as it got very busy which isn’t for us, however appeared very popular with a range of shows and activities.
The hotel is fairly user friendly for those with disabilities: includes ramps, easily accessible lifts and disabled toilets which we were very grateful for. The staff are non-judgemental and always happy to help with any needs.
Overall an enjoyable stay for all of our party, will be looking at possibly returning in the future for another relaxing experience. Thank you from me and my family, we are very grateful for your accommodation to my dads Alzheimer’s and your understanding manner!

Well where to start? Firstly we booked a we booked based on a recommendation a 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette. There was no kitchenette, no kettle, not even a glass or cup.
The "apartment" has obviously gone for a minimalistic look after a recent refurbishment, so much so there isn't even a bin to put any rubbish. Housekeeping come everyday except for Sunday which isn't an issue as they don't clean your space anyway. A quick refresh of the towels is all that seemed to happen. A dead cockroach on the bedroom floor for 2 days was evidence of this as well as the rubbish we had no bin to put in being left for us to dispose of.
A few observations on the food service would make me not want to go all inclusive here again. The service staff do not clean or sanitise any tables or equipment in the restaurant. A quick wipe with a dry cloth to get rid of crumbs and the table was relaid for the next victim to try the inedible food. The only thing that was served at the correct temperature during our visit was the ice cream. No food that was cooked was ever hot, Luke warm at best.
The grill chef used the same tongs for the raw meat/fish and cooked meat/fish which completely put me off risking this offering. Ensure you use the hand sanitizer going in and out of the restaurant.
There is a sewerage smell by the rear side of the hotel which gets stronger the hotter the temperature gets and wafts throughout the whole hotel complex with the wind.
There is a nice solarium on the roof where you can relax, however not sure when this area last seen a brush never mind a clean of the floor, the jaccuzi was our of order all week so can not comment on this feature of the hotel.
You can book in to the Italian restaurant as many times as you like during your holiday, however, again this is not a la carte as advertised. It is again another luke warm buffet offering.
The drinks at the hotel vary depending on which staff you get to make them as no 2 staff members make them the same. Definitely some training needed in terms of standards and specs for cocktails etc. During the daytime and evening you are lucky if the tables are cleared by the snack bar/pool so plastic plates and cups everywhere attracting pigeons.speaking of tables we were yet to find one that
wasn't wobbly and yet to see a bin being emptied. We won't be returning to this hotel.

Dear clairebG9462XY, We are sorry if you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel. However, we would like to comment few points: - The room with kitchenette is provided to the self catering bookings; as you said, you were on all inclusive, so that is the reason why you did not have it; you could have asked our reception staff a kettle and cups and someone would have left it in your room. - All the waiters, clean up the table with the specifics disinfecting solutions, and the hygienic and sanitary registers complies with the standards; the same in the show cooking the raw or cooked meat/fish are not served with the same tongs. - With regard to the temperature of the buffet resistances are within legal standards; the restaurant has a microwave where customers can reheat the food, if is not enough piping hot. - We are sorry for the misunderstanding in the Morrocollo restaurant, and we agree that there is a mistake in the indication, that you can find in the corridor near the Zen garden; but at the arrival and in the moment of the booking we clarify that is also a buffet restaurant. In any case, we will pass your comments to our management team, to check it and investigate and where needed make improvements for the near future. Regards Globales Quality Manager

We travelled here against FCO advice mid August with a young family. We were warmly met at reception by Carlos who upgraded our room and advised us of the safety precautions the hotel was taking and how we needed to observe them. The room was amazing and absolutely exceeded our expectations. Separate aircon in each bedroom and living quarters allowed for a good nights sleep for all. We were all inclusive the food was great something for everyone for every meal. The food was freshly prepared and snacks available at the poolside all day. The all inclusive drinks were all good too very acceptable Beer, spirits and soft drinks, ice cream on tap for the kids all day also was a pleasant experience Ole, one of the bar staff that stood out always provided service with a smile and Andrea in the restaurant constantly engaged with my young girls making them smile every mealtime. The pool, sun beds an all touch points were regularly cleaned and disinfected by the staff all through the day and the cleaners did an excellent job of servicing the room every day. The only thing I found a little overpriced was the room safe which cost us about €40 for 10 days but if your aware be prepared for the cost it’s something you can’t do without these days. We had an amazing holiday and were well looked after by the staff. The evening entertainment did what it should, entertained us, and the drinks flowed up to midnight if you wanted it to. We loved it so much that we have already booked for May 2021 all inclusive again. Well done Tamaimo Tropical we felt welcome and wanted especially in the difficult circumstances everyone was in.

We stayed here as a family of 5 with 2 young children.
The location is not great if you struggle with your mobility as it’s very hilly with a lot of steps in and around the resort.
Pros- very good food at all meal times with lots of variety. We are not particularly fussy but all food was hot with lots of choices. Breakfast was great with churros and pancakes which kept the kids happy. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and we sent compliments to the chef more than once.
Lots of space by the bigger pool and a nice layout.
The drinks were great and the cocktails were nice.
The entertainment team work very very hard and always had a smile on their faces despite seemingly working long hours.
Cons- as previously noted the surrounding area is very hilly so not great for those with mobility issues.
The area where they hold the evening entertainment is by the smaller pool and gets very crowded very quickly. The queue to get a drink during this time was ridiculous with sometimes having to wait 20 minutes.
The a la carte restaurant really isn’t worth the reservation as the food in the main restaurant is much better with a nicer atmosphere.
The biggest con of all were the cockroaches! I understand that it is a hot climate but they have a problem here.
We found at least 5 cockroaches in our ground floor room (one was in our suitcase- always close them once you’ve unpacked!).
We asked to be moved which was granted and we were given a room on a higher floor, we found cockroaches there too. Once we complained again they brought in a pest control company which in my opinion admits there is a problem.
They were quick to act but we were then faced with finding lots of dead cockroaches around the pool area, presumably killed by the pest control actions. It spoilt the holiday naturally and we wouldn’t return. A shame as there were good points

We feel the problem that has been the case with the cockroaches, but it is due to the climate we have on the island, since we have hired a fumigation company and strictly comply with the protocols in this regard, we will still insist on deepening this issue. Greetings.

I will start with the positives, the reception staff were very prompt at booking us in, there was a very pretty Japanese Garden between the blocks of rooms, when we got into our room it's was spacious and very clean with a fair size balcony over looking a nice pool area, sadly that's the only good things, we went straight down to have lunch in the restaurant, one waiter asked my partner to sit on a certain table, I was away getting a drink, I came back and sat a different table unaware my partner was on the other side of the restaurant sat down, the waiter came to me and said " I TOLD YOU TO SIT OVER THERE" I was very bemused at his rudeness, the food was mostly Luke warm and bland, with Veal dominating every meal, we were looking forward to a nice evening in the entertainment show bar, the bar area is a compete joke, it was small with plastic tables and chairs, it reminded me of a works canteen, then I went to get drinks and were served in a plastic glass, I understand during the pool opening hours that plastic glasses are used, but indoors in the so called entertainment area is really bad, then the entertainment staff started with screeching numerous songs out, it was truly aweful, we spent the other 9 nights away from the dreadful bar area, and walked to some nice local nightlife areas. The noise after 1am was relentless with unchallenged youngsters causing mayhem, this was only meters from the manned reception area, they did nothing, I had to take action myself several times, this Hotel could be great if they sort the food and bar area and deal with unruly people in the early hours, think twice before you book, check out my review for the Catalonia Punta del Rey, now that was fabulous all round Hotel albeit in a different area. the photos shows the canteen! Oh I mean the entertainment area and only evening bar.

So I booked this holiday for three of my friends and me as a cheap all inclusive.
I read the reviews after booking and was somewhat concerned about the hotel prior to our arrival after what guests have commented..
There was no need to be concerned. This hotel be it 3 stars is extremely clean...refurbished....and has all you need for a holiday.
The staff were very pleasant throughout. Especially the waiters and waitresses and the flame cooks. The food is fresh and excellent with different things on the flame grill and main buffet area each night as well as fresh salads and veg.
Cleaning of our rooms took place every day apart from the Sunday which wasn't an issue. Pools have lifeguards throughout day and the pools are cleaned regularly. There are two big pools the one by the dining area is the quieter one whereas the other has the snack bar and music all day.
My friends and I couldn't have picked a nicer hotel for the price.
We are definitely coming again next year same time. Excellent value.

This was our second visit to the Tamaimo Tropical. We visited in November 2019 and were so impressed that we re-booked as soon as we got home. The hotel is spotlessly clean in all areas and well maintained. The rooms on both occasions were spacious and had maid service daily. All the staff are polite friendly and helpful. Octavio and all the other dining room staff are friendly and helpful as are the chefs and kitchen staff re-stocking the food and cooking on the grill. The food is amazing. We are both chefs and found all the food to be well cooked, nicely presented, a good variety at every meal and all legal requirements met. Front of house staff are friendly and helpful. The animation team do an amazing job and are friendly and enthusiastic - we enjoyed all the activities and the evening entertainment. Something for everyone no matter your age. The TUI reps in the hotel were also helpful, polite and available daily. They could also be contacted via a phone app when not physically in the hotel. My husband took advantage of the skills of Mary Rose who is a very experienced and thorough massage therapist and is at the hotel every day (from around 9am to 8pm) and well worth the cost (€45 for a full body massage lasting around 1 hour). She was also able to make some suggestions for Michael that would help with his back and foot pain in the future.
The area around the hotel has a selection of bars and restaurants if you choose not to stay in the hotel but we never felt the need to eat or drink elsewhere.
We enjoyed this trip so much that I will be returning on my own in the summer while my husband is on camp with the ACF. Altogether an outstanding hotel and well worth a visit. It is far better than the 3* rating it has been given.

We only went for 3 days and it was our first time going all inclusive, the food choice was amazing although sometimes the food wasn't always hot, there was a microwave to reheat it, if you wanted. There was a chef on the grill and you could get fresh and hot food like omelettes and eggs for breakfast, fish cooked for lunch and chops for dinner. You also had a snack bar by the pool which provided food like burgers, hot dogs and salad through the day. You have a wide choice of hot drinks, orange juice and water for breakfast and then beer, wine, fizzy drinks and water for lunch and dinner in the restaurant. The choice of drink for the all inclusive was white rum, dark run whisky, gin and one choice of beer and hot drinks. If you wanted a brand gin like pink gin you had to pay extra. There was no tea making facilities in the room which my husband wasn't happy about but after talking to reception, they provided a kettle and cups in the room. We had a balcony facing the street which was nice to sit out and people watch, preferred this to the pool view as very busy throughout the day. Some lovely walks from the hotel to the arena which is a cove beach, you can't swim in the sea as too dangerous with the rocks. Sun beds for 3 euros and a couple of restaurants to sit outside and have a cold beer. Would definitely go again.
