Hi, You can walk to the next little beach called Playa de Arena. It will take about 30mins but it is very hilly. From the bus stop outside El Sombrero it's only 3 stops & cost 1.30 Euro. It's a nice little black beach with a few bars n shops. If you want something more lively take the bus. We used the bus every day & never paid a huge amount, definitely not 10 euro. The journey into the main cities is about 1hr we never went to Los Christianos as its UK in the sun but we went diving from Puerto Cruz very lovely place. Public transport is cheap & regular a good way to see the island. Hope this helps :)
