After changing our dates to stay our room type then adding more people and another date change and length of stay. The staff could not have been more accommodating. We did not arrive until gone midnight and when we did we were made to feel very welcome and unhurried to our room. We were told to take our time and...

We arrived at the hotel and found the staff friendly, the room was clean, the bedding and furnishings were in good condition, bathroom ok but needed updating. The location of the Hotel is stunning but unfortunately the staff could do with some training. The food is really not up to very much the one and only evening meal we ate...

The hotel was busy but it is in need of some refurbishment. Some is already under way but much more needs doing to get it up to a good standard. The location is fantastic with great views and a relaxing, quiet area. The main let down in the hotel is the staff who do not seem capable of operating in...

Visited the hotel in May 2013. Beautiful setting on banks of Loch Awe. We paid extra to have a loch side apartment as we brought our little dog with us. Upon arrival we were put in an apartment which was pretty cold so asked at reception about this. The girl there on her first day recorded our complaint and told...

Just returned from a 1 night stay, we had to be in the area so little choice... This could be amazing with some money injected but only if they actually managed it. The staff try but with little direction and training make this a real Fawlty Towers experience as you can see from the other reviews on here. The location...

We booked 3 nights bed and breakfast from an exhibition at a cost of £198. We phoned to book a date and to ask if 2 friends could come at same price. Agreed, booked and paid by credit card. Few days before leaving I emailed to confirm. Hotel telephoned to say they had no record of a booking for our...

Stayed for one night with my husband in a tiny double room. Check in was entertaining. Nobody totally knew what they were doing (all very polite and friendly) and discussed where to put other guest in front of you! Our room appeared clean and tidy however the amenities were pretty poor. The shower was merely a shower hose attached to...

Portsonachan is not the easiest pace to get to but certainly worth the effort as its main charm comes from its isolation. We had a lake-side lodge and the peace and quiet was at times unbelievable. The views are tremendous and we were very lucky in that the weather was great. The food was good but the service quite laughable....

This was our third visit to the hotel in the last 4 years, always booked in advance from an exhibitor stand at a local county show. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, but the decor is getting very tired! The breakfast as always is very good and plentiful. It is very pleasant sitting in the conservatory eating...

We only looked at comments on Tripadvisor the day before we were due to go to this hotel, which has an ideal location on the shores of Loch Awe. Like most other reviewers we had bought the 3 night stay for £99 per night, including breakfast, at a cruise show in London last year, and if we had seen the...
