Staggered into very welcoming public bar after an 18 mile trek on St Oswald's way. Could not have been more hospitable, didn't even mind the sheep poo on our boots! Our room was comfy but basic with a shared bathroom but this was reflected in the price which included an excellent breakfast. We ate in the restaurant and again the...

Had our dinner here this evening. Very quiet, but it is a Monday! Good service from the young lady behind the bar, very polite. Food of good quality and tasty. Although not a huge choice. But still lovely. Recommended.

Fantastic family gathering for Sunday lunch. Great service , friendly staff. We all opted for carvery which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I then opted for sticky toffee pudding for a sweet - was the best I have had in a long time. Would definatly recommend and will hopefully be returning again soon. Pete Howey

We visited on 31/12 for "special" New Year's Eve dinner. Apparently it had been fully booked since October, but we got in as they had a last-minute cancellation. Very welcoming, as usual; good meal too. We'll have to remember to book early next year!
