We were kicked out of the house by our eldest son as he wanted his mates to join him to watch boxing on sky (through the night)! So we looked for a last minute deal for a 1 night stay close by (we live in Newcastle) The Queens Head in Rothbury looked ok, so we booked there. We has a...

We stayed one night when walking the Inn Way. I chose it because the bus stop is outside to Cragside, Alnwick & Alnmouth station! The rooms are dated but seem to be undergoing refurbishment, the dining room is good.

Stayed two nights for a friend`s wedding. Not sure when we first arrived...Reception?? turned out to be a busy but pleasant barman. Creaky stairs and uneven passageways but room, although a little cramped, was cosy and full of character. Bed was very comfortable which personally, is a must. Didn`t have an evening meal but breakfast was excellent. Real, proper old...

We've stayed in Rothbury on several occasions, sometimes with friends, sometimes at the Queens Head. The village is fantastic for a break away - friendly, welcoming, and one of those few places where you feel yourself relaxing as soon as you've arrived. It's peaceful, with great Northumerland scenery in directions around, but at the same time, the local establishments are...

I booked this hotel through a "matched" Living Social or Groupon deal (can't remember which), and found it absolutely great value for money! The hotel is more of a big old pub with rooms - 7 letting rooms - with a breakfast room and separate restaurant, right on the main street in Rothbury. I booked for a group of 14...

Settled on the Queens Head as our base whilst we revisited old haunts in Northumberland. Room was spacious & comfortable and the bathroom, albeit on the small side, perfectly adequate. Limited offering on the cold buffet table but very good choice on the hot breakfast menu. Food arrived promptly and was well presented & tasty. Staff were friendly & helpful...

We just stayed for one night bed and breakfast but what a lovely night it was. The room was very modern looking. Tony the barman made us feel at home. They have a very good selection of real ales. In the evening we had a meal in the hotel. We had potato and leek soup to start with, I had...

Spent a Night here recently on a Travelzoo deal which turned out to be great value for money, it's an old building with warm welcoming staff, shown to our room which was a little dated and would have benefitted from a picture or 2 ideally of some of the many beautiful local attractions. Thanks for leaving us a review, we really appreciate you taking the time to write such nice things about us.
