Excellently located modern hotel with well equipped rooms. It is conveniently placed for both the town centre and train and bus links. Small but well planned bathrooms with everything you need. The restaurant attached has an excellent menu and a well set out outside area under cover so you can enjoy an al fresco meal on a summer evening. If...

We had a lovely room on the first floor with a balcony at the back of the hotel - good views of the mountains and San Lorenzo church. The room and bathroom were clean, and shower very good. Good choice for breakfast. We had a good evening meal and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Rated hotel 'very good' because...

First, Chiavenna is one of the nicest places we have visited in Italy and we have been many places in Italy. Also had a wonderful stay at the Hotel San Lorenzo. Perfect location. Out of the train station (or bus station next door) and short walk across the street to the hotel. We asked for a room with balcony facing...

San Lorenzo is a modern, central hotel in the lovely town of Chiavenna. We liked the reliable wifi, the free parking and the modern rooms. We were less convinced by the quality of the breakfast and the half pension meals. Close enough to Madesimo ski area but Chiavenna lacks winter sports feeling.

Has associated (and decent Itailan-Swiss) restaurant on site - although we had some difficulty merging the bills from both. Centrally located near the station and town. Parking available. Rooms quite standard and comfortable, w-ifi everywhere and reliable.

We were six women staying at San Lonrenzo for trecking and recreation during a long weekend. Staff were all very helpful and gave us fantastic and kind service. Close to citycenter, clean and modern rooms, safe parking, good wifi and a with a far better breakfast than expected on a three star hotel. Warm recommendations!

Although room was rather small it was adequately furnished. Air conditioning worked well which was appreciated as it was 33C! Small fridge was convenient. Shower worked well - lots of hot water - very nice large towels. Bed was comfortable and there was a small balcony with two, chairs & table. Beautiful view out window and from balcony. Very good breakfast...

Chiavenna is a gorgeous northern Italian town and Hotel San Lorenzo is fabulous. It is newly renovated and the rooms are lovely and comfortable. I had the best sleep of my trip there and the hotel restaurant was also the best meal, hands down! The hotel is convenient to the walking zone and the lovely shops and cafes in town....

We stayed here after completing the 'Via Spluga'. Front of house was ok, but not overfriendly. Our luggage had been delivered but not to our room and we had to go looking for it. The room was modern and had good amenities, including free wi-fi. The shower had some interesting options, but we stuck to the basics. There was no...
