This was just a fantastic little place to stay. From the welcome, to the room, the the grounds, the pool, the little hammock, the service, the links to cricket. Probably the best little hotel I've stayed in. Top top marks and highly reccomended
It was indeed a relaxed holiday at Kalu's Hideaway. It was absolute value for money. Food was good and the Chef was always obliging for guests' requests. Staff was smiling and very attentive. Location is very quiet and it is an absolute hideways. A suggestion...More
We were a bit apprehensive about this hotel, having read some bad reviews. We were very happy to find that our experience was the exact opposite. We spent 2 nights here (earlyJune 2016), and would have happily stayed longer.

Sorry not to check the site more often. I booked the hotel through an agent in Ann Arbor who also selected other hotels/tents in Sri Lanka. I went through several wildlife parks in Sri Lanka but again, the agent had selected a guide who made the arrangements. They were very accomodating at Kalu but it was not the best park to visit, perhaps my guide's poor judgment in drivers. BTW I would not recommend going to Yala (way too many people and poor administration)
