Great safari organised by the hotel and a lovely lady in charge who was very patient with us. Food and drink is a good price and the pool, though small, is great for a refreshing dip following a safari. Please note that they don't accept debit cards, only credit cards or cash. (This was the same with a few of...

The hotel states that it was the first hotel to have opened in Udawalawe in 1993. It seems that nothing has changed since then. While the outside gardens look nice, everything else is not. We had a room with A/C which was very basic and not really clean. The furniture is very old and the only power outlet is in...

Safari Village was amazing. The hotel common spaces are incredibly charming - almost out of a Wes Anderson movie. The staff couldn't have been more gracious. They were cheerful, helpful and friendly without being at all overbearing. They seamlessly arranged a wonderful safari for us and had a giant, delicious breakfast ready immediately upon our return. The dinner menu is...

This is not in the Uda Walawe National Park although the address misleadingly says so. This hotel is quite a distance from the Park and is closer to the Elephant Transit home but neither are within walking distance. There are many other hotels that are much closer to both of them. They claim to be the 1st Hotel in Uda...

We had a slight issue with arriving at the hotel because we were taking a bus which ended up being VERY delayed. We called the hotel to let them know that we were going to be arriving late, around 11pm, and they said it was okay, but when we arrived the security gate was closed and there was nobody to...

Hotel was almost completely empty due to it being off season. The manager set up a safari for us at Udawalawe which is very close by and the pool there was nice. Food at the restaurant was pretty good as well.

Rooms are a bit basic and pretty old but there is a nice swimming pool. Staff is very kind, wifi is working very well but only in one place of the hotel. They organize your safari with nice people and it is a good place to spend one night before going to the National Park

We were taken here after our other hotel was full but it was run by very friendly staff and the food was brilliant. Great pool and central to the safari park. They also arranged travel to Ella. It had a really old style colonial feel to it and was excellent value for money
