Hotel was fine, room was of adequate size and the bathroom well appointed although the shower was difficult to enter and exit. Restaurant was fine, excellent service but I expected more at these prices. The terrine was OK, but nothing special, the fish was cold on arrival and the ice cream in Cognac soaked dried cherries was very good. Again,... More

Hats off to the lovely lady owner who went out of her way to cater for me. Firstly the evening meal was very nice and reasonably priced as was the wine. I advised that I was gluten-free and was informed they make their own bread ( which my partner said was top notch) and do not have gf. I enquired... More

As is our wont, we stayed overnight here en route to the Pyrenees from St Malo. Because it is so convenient to the autoroute, and has a secure garage, the hotel has been welcoming us for a good number of years now, so much so that we are usually given 'chambre 17' (our favourite) without asking. The dinner are good,... More

I'm not really one to knock folk when they are down so I'm going to try to temper our extreme disappointment at the Hotel Bordeaux. I'd read the previous reviews, so was primed for the damage to the front of the hotel, caused I understand by subsidence through council work. The price seemed reasonable too at 68E for a double... Just the best in Pons. Pons is a very quiet and beautiful small middleage city. You must cling the 130 steps of the Donjon and get a stuning overview allover the landscape, rivers and small channels. And after, go to have a very fine diner at Hotel de Bordeaux, which is the best "table" in Pons and probably some kilometers... More

It was our second visit to the Hotel de Bordeaux restaas Pons provided a convenient stop on pour way from Bordeaux back to St. Gilles-croix de Vie. The small restaurant is located in the rear of the little hotel, and has a lovely garden courtyard when the weather is fine. Unusually, my husband and I chose exactly the same menu--two... More

We were directed up to this restaurant by the owners of chambres d' hotes Auberge de Pontoise . We were just pleased to find somewhere open . We were so pleasantly surprised by the restaurant . We were able to sit outside in the small courtyard . The service was very good and most helpful . The bread was homemade... More

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Hotel de Bordeaux. After a long walk from Saintes, the courtyard garden was an excellent place to enjoy a few drinks which were served with appetisers. So much so we enjoyed more drinks later in the bar, served with more appetisers. Expect to pay for them though. My room up the winding stairs... More

Stayed here 1 night on my way to Spain on my motorbike. As said before exterior was quite shabby but inside the hotel was OK. Helpful service and a useful secure garage just across the road. The restaurant is excellent and the food is very good indeed, perhaps a little pricey. Wine choice is pricey too and our €25 bottle... More

Finding a hotel open on a Monday night is always tricky in France, but the Bordeaux was, it's in the Michelin and the double room was only 69€, so I thought I would chance it for one night. The hotel is in the process of refurbishment, but the decor of the reception, stairway and our room was reminiscent of the 1960's,... More
