Heather Lodge is a fantastic and romantic inn. We had originally booked our stay in February, however at the last minute the weather forced our dog sledding tour in the area to be cancelled. Heather Lodge was very accommodating in rebooking our stay on very short notice. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were nice and cozy, the beds...

My fiance and I stayed at the Heather Lodge for a weekend in February. It was our first time there and we had such a wonderful time. Right from the start, Chef James made us feel at home. We enjoyed being able to privatize the jacuzzi. We had a beautiful cozy room with en open fire and a balcony with...

Maria, James and staff has made it difficult for us travelling forward. They met and exceeded every expectation of ours. We spent six nights here on the snowmobile trip from British Columbia. The room was beautifully appointed, the food top-notch and the inn cosy, quaint and professional. We felt the price was more than reasonable for all we received. We...

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night visit. Chef James' dinners and breakfasts were incredible both in taste and presentation and his wife, Maria, was a very warm and welcoming host. Our server, Mennie, was professional but also offered some delightful casual conversation between servings. Our room was clean, spacious, and cozy and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful....

This has to be the most picturesque place we have ever stayed. It is a husband/wife operated lodge and this made the atmosphere more comfortable. Our family went there for a mini family vacation and because we went in November, were fortunate to obtain two of the nicest rooms - both with a fireplace and a view of the lake....

This rating is strictly about the restaurants inability to handle a relatively small group of 24 for dinner. Especially when the restaurant was provided the groups menu choices a week in advance. Group arrivals from 5:30 to 6:30 for cocktails. Dinner scheduled for 6:30. Rolls served at 8:05, apps and mains served 8:25 to 8:45. Last person served after 80%...

We recently decided to just take a weekend trip and drive through the Muskoka to Haliburton area. We booked a room at the Heather Lodge for overnight and so glad we did. The woman who checked us in was very nice and for a moderate increase upgraded us from a "garden view" to a loke view room. So glad she...

Recently a group of 13 went to Heather Lodge for dinner. That can be quite challenging for many places with timing, etc. Not so with this fine establishment. We were greeted with a beautiful fire in the sitting room and a server ready to take drink orders. This set the tone for the evening. Once all arrived, we were led...

All about the excellent food and Chef James! Good variety of dishes on the menu and cooked to order. Wine list limited but byob available, good selection of craft beers. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Comfortable rooms equipped with fireplace and Keurig's to brew fresh coffee. Lodge needs to improve its housekeeping, maintenance of the rooms and property overall. Excellent...

As former residents of Twelve Mile Lake we were familiar with Heather Lodge's accommodations for our overflow guests, but WOW how things have changed in the dining room since we were last there. The location, the rooms, the view are all spectacular but the owners Maria & Chef James have really gone upscale on the dining room décor, service, and...
