Location is far from town. Only way is by lavender go bus that stop at a nearby hotel. The staff speak good English and helpful. He came to pick up our bags at the train station in the morning so we can go directly to sightseeing. Evening we suppose to go hotel on our own but we missed the bus... More

Staff spoke English well. Hotel is in an OK location, good if you are skiing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was very dated but clean. Cheap compared with other hotels. Surprised at coin operated tv. Would stay again.

The hosts were very accomodating, spoke excellent English and answered any of our questions (of which there were many on our first trip). Breakfast was superb and we loved the on site bath. Perfect after a hard day snowboarding. Would revisit and recommend to others.

Well I think the rating for each hotel is very relative. I have been living in Japan for the last 2 years, and I have stayed in Youth Hostels which are lot more cheaper, better and cleaner than this hotel. The Hotel staff is friendly, speak english, and the place is relatively clean. I say this because the hallways had... More

What can I say!!!! But the best place to stay in Furano. We have stayed in quite a number of establishments in Hokkaido and Honshu over the past 10 years and none have come close to the service and charm of Suzuran. This was our second stay with the Ikeno family and it won't be our last. Thanks again for... More

I stayed in this property in February 2012 for one week and then in March for another week (for skiing on both occasions). I simply cannot wait to go back!!! Even though this is not a luxury property, the service and hospitality I received from the Ikeno family (the owner and operator of this hotel) way surpassed many of the... More

Hopefully oneday we will come and stay at this hotel again.... More

This is NOT the Hilton! This a great place to stay if you are looking for very clean accommodation, great caring manager and his wife, outstanding location to the ski field and all at a very reasonable price. Rooms are small but our western beds were very comfortable. We also had the typical 'tardis' type private bathroom. Internet connection available... More

It was great that Masaki-san could speak English! About 2 days before arriving in Furano, we realised that we made a mistake with the booking of Petit Hotel Suzuran - we booked the wrong dates! We called Masaki-san immediately and he allowed us to change the dates without any charge. When we arrived, we told Masaki-san that we wanted to... More

Our second trip in 2011: last 2006 and the wonderful hospitality of Masaki San hasn't changed. Its not the Hilton (or the New Furano Prince) but if you want Japanese ambience with tatami mat floors, futons, spacious rooms and excellent value choose a Japanese style room, wear your Japanese robe to visit the facilities and enjoy the communal bathing in...
