This hotel makes Fawlty Towers look 5*. There was nothing right about it - dated, dirty, food abysmal, staff totally untrained and unprofessional (apart from the new Manager who tried her best). The whole place is in need of a serious injection of cash.
Dirty walls, dirty carpets, stench of human waste in stairwell, broken sink, dirty bathroom light pull cord, old broken bed, noise from street, no parking, bar grim & uninviting, average breakfast, town run down & dull. Tea & Coffee in room was ok.
Hotel is very dated and tired, no heating in the room ( we did ask for it to be fixed ) . Noisy outside at night with local youths congregating , smell of drains in the hall way . Shower only a dribble . On...More

There is a pub up the road further into town about 5 mins walk called Y Meirion. It's a smallish pub, but the guys who run it are very friendly, as are the locals. Because of the space, I'd recommend calling them and reserving a table, as it only seats about 12 people in the restaurant section. Food is good value and very tasty!!
