This place has a lot of potential but is fairly managed. I visited the resort with family and friends, you pay around $6 for adults and about $3 for kids to use the pool (you pay in pesos though). The gate guys was friendly, the folks that charge the pool service also friendly. The place has a lot of parking. The pools are fairly small compared to US pools. (No big deal) However, what I really would like to communicate to Jose who I believe oversees this place/or manages this place. The restaurant/pool wait staff service is horrible. The first time I went with family because they recommend this as one of the best resorts in Jarabacoa, we waited for almost an hour for the service guy to come take our order (and this happened with a few guests). The second time it was a little better since they had seen me before but still noticed how many guests being unattended. Recommendation, to Jose who is a nice guy. The place looks nice, lacks customer service in the pool area. Not sure how the rest of the resort is but like they say 1st impressions count. Keep in mind most of the folks who go there are folks who live in the US and travel back home all year round to visit family or friends. Jose was communicative and apologized for all inconvenience.…
When arriving I paid for two rooms and were to stay for two nights. when arriving the room had no air-conditioning, the TV didn't work, the conditions were dusty and very used. I asked for a refund of the second night and they said they would. To this day I have not received anything but lip service. I wrote another review and they said "We work to improve, thanks for visiting us! I would like the money owed to me. I would never visit this place again and would not recommend going here at all.
Very nice hotel, specially as the rivers cross it. If you are looking where to spend a nice vacations, fresh air, and some water activity , this is the place. River rafting is waiting along with a great staff, great environment. Great experience. LOVEDR
I kept was expectations very low, but in general I liked the hotel. The view to the river, the rooms were clean, the attention of the staff were fair, one of the staff kept repeating, " I'm sorry I am new, bear with me...". The restaurant was a little expensive!
We stayed here for X'mas Eve to get away from the city. It happens to be next to a loud neighbohood so we didn't get any sleep till 3am. Since it's was a holiday we thought, oh well. But as far as the hotel the rooms are not very clean and very old fashioned. They're dark and dingy. The facilities are not in good conditions and since the property was so big it seems hard for them to keep clean. It might be ok to spend a day in the pool and river when it's hot, but definitely overpriced for what it offers. Rooms need to be updated, surroundings cleaned or price dropped.
Very outdated place. Beautiful view and friendly people but accomodation and surrounding like pools, places to sit in bad condition. In the room non working lights, old shower with only cold water, bad beds. Food depends on the day if it is okay. A great place to have a drink and enjoy the view but not to stay. We left early.
The resort is tastefully built into the natural banks and cliffs spanning the river giving a feel of a Swiss Family Robinson tree house resort. Helpful and attentive staff were always there to provide what was needed. The local excursions including rafting and paragliding were fantastic!
this hotel is located in a beautiful piece of land, it has many ammenities, we only stayed for one night, the only problem i had was with the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom looked like it wasn't properly clean, so we didn't use it, the retaurant was good, the service and the employees very friendly, i feel it was a bit overpriced.
I stayed at the River Club for 2 nights during my first trip to Dominican Republic. It's a lovely setting with views of the river and mountains. The room was more than adequate; however, the shower had very little pressure so it was difficult to rinse your hair. And on day 2 I had no hot water, but that is to be expected in some remote areas. There are swimming pools, a hanging bridge, swings, and more activities. The buffet breakfast was delicious - a lot of variety including fresh fruit, mashed plantains, celery root, sausage, eggs, and more. There is a bar or two on the premises, so both nights I did hear music late into the night. If you have an early morning, you might want to bring some ear plugs.
We went on a friends with family trip to Jarabacoa, and decided to go there with the kids, we a large crowd, 8 families with kids, the waiter made all the effort to provide a good service but the rest of the team was terrible. The pool, no lifeguards services, adults drinking in the pool with bottles and glasses, no control by them. When time to pay came, we had to wait almost an hour to them bring our checks. Poor service by some the supervisor, overall very bad service and accommodations
