A beautiful setting, facing west towards the sunset, two miles out of Castlebay, by a beautiful beach. We went in for a meal to watch the sun set at 5.30 but no availability for non residents. There was a slight formality to the interchange and it occurred to me I was not reconned to be their type. So a drink?...

This hotel was our first introduction to the Isle of Barra and is in a beautiful setting and is nicely furnished. However, the attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired after I witnessed a very unpleasant conversation by the receptionist with one of our group who had only wanted to try and phone the local hospital to...

My husband and couple of friends went over to Barra Island for the weekend. We popped into the Isle of Barra Beach Hotel to try and book a table for dinner and was informed non residents not welcome. This really surprised us. The place was dead and had no atmosphere. We were given a cup of coffee which was not...

Dear honey13eh Thank you for your review which both surprises and disturbs us. We can only try to correct the misconceptions that you list; non-residents are always welcome however we are restricted in the number we can take as our kitchen is small and we tend to get booked up well in advance. We apologise if the coffee was not...

Not a bad little hotel. Owner came out to greet the passengers on the coach. Room was OK comfy bed bathroom was OK took a while for hot water to come through though. Food was good and served to your table. Free WiFi which worked ok the 2 nights I stayed. Not getting 5 stars because of 1. The bar...

Dear sjireland1 Thank you for your review, we feel that there are a number of points that you make that deserve an answer. Firstly the bar prices; unfortunately our suppliers don’t deliver to the islands for the same price as they do to the UK Mainland and the resultant higher delivered cost must be recovered if we are not to...

A second visit to Barra and this fairly minimalist hotel--this time to experience the flight landing and take off from the beach. It was flattering to be remembered from the first visit two years ago. The staff are so welcoming and will talk and laugh for hours if you are not careful. We didn't eat there--other than at the excellent...

I was here from the 3rd-10 May 2017. Teresa, Guy, Joan and staff were all very helpful. If you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday away from everything, I would recommend this hotel. (Amazing location)!!! 😊 👍 Please note, THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!! Also if you come to Barra, try the boat trip from Castlebay to Mingulay.(Breathtaking)!!!

Perfect location on a stunning beach, contemporary bedrooms and themed social spaces. The team could not have been more friendly and helpful. They had time to help and just chat which is so rare now. Even recommending alternative dining optons, great 3 day, 2 night break. Loved it!!

Set on the Atlantic beach with its white sands and occasional dolphin erupting from the deep blue, almost Caribbean water this surely has to be the most amazing hotel and restaurant in the world. After a 1 hour flight from Glasgow a warm welcome from Joan and the team will be there after a short taxi from Barra airport, where...
