We stayed here for one night on our way back to England following a road trip through France. We stayed in 7 different places and this was my number one favourite. The attention to detail was second to none and I really, really hope we can return at some stage in the future. It was all fabulous. Thank you to... More

Chateau des Tesnieres is a big, impressive house. When John and Siebren bought the place it was either derelict or in pretty poor shape, what a transformation, without being slavish to any style they have blended classic, contemporary and sheer good taste to fantastic effect, the interiors are wonderful. The breakfast is pretty good too! If you want gushing hospitality... More

The host was not too wRm on arrival we were early and the room not ready but we were not offered any hospitality whilst waiting for 3hours in the heat. Room was very good, the breakfast excellent. The grounds extensive and well kept. Lots of stuff to do locally.

Whilst the chateau is in a rural location it was not difficult to find. On our arrival we were greeted by John (and the dogs) and shown to our room. As previously reported there is a relaxed approach to keys and locking doors- but there is no danger of being locked out! Upon request John made a supper reservation at... More

We have stayed here a few times over the last 5/6 years and it still gives my husband and I a lot of pleasure to stay here. The chateau has lovely grounds to walk in and switch off completely. The rooms are amazing, the general interiors beautiful and the hospitality shown to us was second to none. The breakfasts are... More

Drove down from the Cherbourg ferry during a summer heatwave. Not far to drive from the motorway but feels very remote and secluded! Arrived and took a minute to find somebody but were given a warm and informal welcome and directed to our room (or rather suite of rooms along a private hall including a living room in a turret).... We came here for a 2 night break as part of a tour of Normandy and Brittany and had a wonderful time, even though the weather was bad. The castle is very clean, and beautifully kept. The delicious breakfast is served in a fantastic formal dining room. Guests also get to use the pretty formal lounge which has lots of... More

We chose the Chateau des Tesnieres as our base to explore Brittany for three nights. We chose the Suite de Comte and Suite de Comtesse. The chateau is breathtaking, as well as the grounds and the suites. The owner does speak excellent English and was very helpful whenever the need arose. Breakfast included soft-boiled eggs, hot drink of choice, fresh... More

My mom and I stayed two nights at this lovely Chateau. Our rooms were enormous and very comfortable. Our hosts were nice and discrete but available when we needed assistance. The views out of the windows were breathtaking. I also enjoyed the company of the two resident dogs and even the visiting neighbor dog. They accompanied me on one of... More
