The Chateau de Monrecour is an absolute jewel. The hotel rooms are comfortable and beautifully appointed. The en-suites are clean and modern. The public rooms are oak panelled and a joy to sit in and read or play games. The guests were delightful (new friends from Quebec and Bordeaux made in one night!) and the staff could not have been...

A wonderful Chateau, rooms spacious and airy, great views from our chambre and well appointed. Great shower after a day of walkng. Especially enjoyable was the tea facility provided. Staff very welcoming and helpful. The pool, heated, added to our pleasurable stay. Plus we watched the kingfisher hot air balloon launch from nearby lawn as we had aperitif's. This château...

We are on a gastronomic walk of the Dordogne region and arrived at this magnificently restored chateau. Our room was large and really well appointed, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the food was out of this world. This is how a hotel should be run. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEMD this beautiful place to stay.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a larger holiday, which included a hiking & gastronomic section. The chateau is beautiful and immaculately kept. All the staff are genuinely warm, friendly & very helpful and we have been made to feel very special. Our room in the chateau is wonderful with a triple aspect and a glorious view of...

This is our 2nd visit. The 1st was back in 2005. The Chateau has nice and comfortable rooms (if you choose the ones in the Chateau). I don't know about the other rooms. The area has a lot to offer so it is a great place to spend a few days. The staff are great and doing their best to...

My wife and I came across this splendid Chateau during a slow meander down through France. From the moment we entered we were treated like honoured guests. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. We were shown to our room in the old Chateau which had the most comfortable four poster bed I have ever slept in. One incident of...

-- Beautiful, relatively new château (compared to the mediaeval ones nearby!). -- Two outdoor pools, one with view of Château Milandes. -- Huge room in tower with balcony next door; good views towards Beynac. -- Lots of wardrobe space. -- Kettle for tea-making but only 2 tea bags! -- Good sized shower, though tiles could do with a clean (not...

We visited for 3 days in Sep. We stayed in the external accommodation not the Chateau itself. The accommodations and breakfast was great. We also ate in the attached restaurant one evening and the food there was excellent. It was a great base for either walking or driving around the Dordogne. The views and countryside close by were great. All...

A beautifully run hotel, comprising of a Chateau with grander rooms, and converted farm buildings which were more basic B&B style, though all residents could use all the facilities. There were 2 swimming pools, one for kids located on one side of the hotel and one with age restrictions on the other which is a welcome respite in the school holidays....

We were on a driving tour from the south of France to Paris. We actually had no preaaranged hotel for this night and at the last minute while driving the roads in Beynac found this chateau on line and booked it 30 minutes before arriving. It was the last room available. The chateau is so beautiful inside and out! Grand...
