Hi Kurt Wow we love the full house score! Our quaint village is full of wonderful historic and natural sites. We are privileged to offer farmers portions of up-market pub food to the travellers who find their way here. We look forward to your return visit. There is an amazing book fair at the end of the month (30 April)...

We stayed only one night, my wife and I in an en suite room, our friend in a room in the old part of the Inn with Shared facilities. Despite our visit coinciding with St Patrick Day Celebrations, we were not disturbed. Our room was comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed the dinner. Breakfast is not included but the...

If you are in this part of the Eastern Cape, then this pub is a must. Food is excellent, and you feel that your a part of yesteryear. We sat out on the verhanda and enjoyed a very pleasant lunch. If your kids are looking at Rhodes fro study then this restaurant in Bathurst is a must.

We headed into Bathurst for lunch on an overcast day. Clearly lots of other people had the same idea. Waiting due to busyness is acceptable but we waited over 2,5 hours for pub food ! Pathetic!!! Please see this positively- it's an awesome spot but you need to gear up and communicate honestly around food timelines ....

Thank you for your honest feedback. The season is always a difficult time for small country hotels. All of or food is prepared from raw ingredients, and it is extremely difficult to anticipate quantities for preparation. Our waiting staff are expected to communicate the possible wait times and when we as owners feel that these will be too long we...

A delightful pub, restaurant and accommodation in a charming village. We booked an overnight stay without knowing anything about the village or the inn - what a great place. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, and the meal and pub service outstanding. An absolute must if in the Bathurst area. We will definitely go out of our way to...

Just woke up in our warm and comfy bed at the Pig and Whistle and what a good rest it was after 2 days of driving from the Lowveld of Mpumalanga. I was delighted to find electric blankets and slept like a log. It is a charming building and friendly staff also contribute to making this a worthwhile experience.

We stayed in Port Alfred, and came to the Pig and whistle Inn to have their Steak night. This is most definitely worth it!!! You choose either Rump, Sirloin or Fillet, you tell the local Butcher Owner how thick you want itm and how many grams you want. He cuts it to size, its weighted and you are given a...

All rooms have recently been equipped with new beds and Percale linen. The first owner, Thomas Hartley, built this house in 1821, a three story dwelling with 2 bedrooms on the top floor.
