In the last 6 weeks I have visited the Runcorn area 4 times. My previous visits to other big chain hotels were on average OK. On my fourth visit, I remembered staying in a hotel called the 'Old Hall' in Frodsham about 25 to 30 years ago & remembered it being pretty good. I booked a room at about 80%...

Great location on the main street in centre of Frodsham which is really the only reason you would choose to stay here. The exterior of this tudor building is very attractive but unfortunately the interior is extremely tired and dated. I appreciate that a building of this age will have its problems but there is a big difference between 'character'...

Stayed here twice recently and makes a pleasant change if you fancy something different to Premier and Holiday Inn. Looks to be family run, all very friendly and the two rooms I've seen were both good, excellent comfortable bad and powerful shower in room 2. There is a big car park at back, although you can park outside except when...

This review is about the restaurant, not the hotel aspect. My partner and I visited the hotel for a valentines special, we had eaten here before but a while ago. To say the standard was a million miles away from the previous visit was an understatement. We arrived and ordered some white wine, which was not chilled. The waitress was...

Booked this hotel as usual with booking.com, who we have booked with for many years. Upon arrival my booking was not found, but was shown to a dark dingy double room, i had booked a suite. Rang reception and was told that booking.com had not specified a room type, which i know was untrue, was then told that all suites...

I stay a lot in the standard Hiltons and Holiday Inn's and wanted a change. What this hotel gives is charm and that personal touch. All the staff and owners happy to chat and make you feel special and I think that is what makes this hotel worth a try. The food is very good and over the three nights...

My husband won an "afternoon tea" at work and everyone was envious of his prize, so we had high hopes for the afternoon. We were not disappointed. We had a glass of Champagne followed by a delicious tea of sandwiches and cakes in lovely surroundings. The staff were very friendly. Overall a great experience.

Stayed with my wife and son over New Year. The room was comfortable roomy and quiet. Our son had an adjoining room for just £10 extra which we felt was excellent value. Overall value for money was very good. The breakfast was also good and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed the new year eve in the bar, very relaxed. Recommended!
