If you want to enjoy some good quality cocktails off the beaten party and amusement track in Chaweng "downtown" - or simply want to enjoy the evening sipping a glass of wine instead of the standard booze - head here, still on the main road but a bit off to the south of the strip

The Library came highly recommended so I decided to overlook the 'Design Hotel' branding emblazoned everywhere on the website - I don't usually go for gimmicks and was concerned it might be an eclectic mix of cute but kitsch examples of over-design. Nightmare scenario of a shower ensconced in glass in the middle of the room, garish mood lighting and...

First time ever written a review and what can I say a huge disappointment of how reckless the front office team is. Booked a transfer from the pier with a full confirmation completed, up on arrival there was no pick up arranged. Arrived at hotel not a single apologize from the office until check in completed. I know it's not...

Winter break with the big big boss (wife) over new year. What can I say! Lovely little hotel with fab pool and right on the beach. We had a really relaxing stay. It's called the library and it has one. I enjoy books, take one to the pool (10m away) grab a beer (plenty of decent choice) and relax. Dip...

We went for dinner. Service was exceptional and food and cocktails were delicious. Loved that it was right on the beach. Staff provided extra treats/snacks between meals, which was a nice surprise. It felt like a 5 star dining experience, but our bill at the end was higher than expected. We spent around $150AUD between two of us, for 3...

Food here was really good , menu was extensive and the it didn't disappoint. Definitely more expensive than you would come to expect in Thailand, this is much closer to western pricing. Great place to watch the sun go down and enjoy dinner and cocktails!

The Library restaurant has a gorgeous modern atmosphere (designers, architects and fans of cool spaces will appreciate) with a beach front. The menu is sophisticated to pair with the ambience perfectly. We ordered the set menu (12 courses) and were impressed with the presentation and use of various plates, wood planks, bricks, footed bowls and flowers used in every course....

The Library is a really beautiful hotel, with an amazing concept: everything is related to an idea of a modern library. The pool is famous worldwide for its colour and it is indeed stunning. The staff is one of the best I ever found: polite, friendly, always ready to serve you and make you feel comfortable. The breakfast is perfect...

I absolutely loved staying here. It's small enough to be cosy and intimate but big enough to be private. With limited rooms guests do get particularly good attention. Breakfast was nice, as was the beach. The bar on beach was good too although their happy hour menu wasn't the best. You have access to a library - so you can...

The Library is a stunning conceptual hotel built in a semi-minimalist architectural design, located at the heart of Chaweng Beach. Shaped by the hands of an island local who was inspired by books and a simple lifestyle philosophy, the property has now become an international icon of style and was recently recognized by Tripadvisor as the number one trendiest hotel in Thailand (2012).The Library offers its guests a total of 26 unique accommodations in the form of Exotic Suites located on the ground floor, Smart Studios on the upper levels, an ultra-luxurious unit called the Bookmark and an expansive 2-Bedroom Suite. Interspersed with age-old trees and various works of art, The Library and its surroundings boast a balance of nature and culture. Interiors bathed in a minimalist palette are completed with modern facilities. True to the belief that a perfect holiday equals an opportunity to enjoy one good novel, guests are invited to browse through the well-curated collection of books at The Lib, which gives The Library its distinctive name. An award-winning restaurant called The Page is also open for all-day dining, and the Drink Gallery whips up an artistic blend of good food, warm vibes and the island's most fantastic drinks. ... more   less
