After a long bike ride (we did the Hauraki Rail Trail and if you are doing the trail just when you think you have finished you have to cycle up hill and a long way out of town to get to the motel) arrived at the Motel to be told that we room had been doubled booked! Talking to the... More

The woman at the counter is effusively friendly. However the room smelled strongly of damp. The fittings are standard 1970s wood veneer and Shacklock fridge and oven. Cinder block walls. Small double bed. We couldn't connect to the internet. When we asked the manager for help, he came and eventually logged on. He told us our devices were to blame.... More

Ping was very helpful and the units are super clean and perfect for a family of five. Nothing was a problem for Ping (the host) and she was very friendly. Only draw back is it was a little away from the town centre and from the Bike Trail. Other than that it was a perfect overnight crash pad.

We stayed overnight at the Racecourse Motel after riding the Hauraki Rail Trail from Thames to Paeroa. It was an average quality motel. The room was reasonably well equipped and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location is on a highway on the outskirts of town, well away from the rail trail, and not very convenient if you... More

My friends and I arrived late at night at around 11pm. Got a call from them to make sure if we were fine. Host was awesome and very welcoming. She also did our laundry the next day because we had to leave early in the morning. The overall room was great. Nice and clean.

Warm host and motel . Clean and comfortable except the bed is little bit soft. Good location to stay if you are doing the Hauraki Rail Trail. Allow to check in earlier as one of the room is clean and let us store our bicycles in their garage overnight.

A group of 8 friends stayed at the Racecourse Motel while cycling the Rail Trail. The owners were very accommodating as they allowed us to leave our bike trailer on their property while we cycled from Waihi and back. They also cooked us a delicious breakfast on the morning of our ride.

We stayed here for three nights as we were doing parts of Hauraki RailTrail. Host was very hospitable and knowledgable in terms of Trail and area in general. Room was spotless as was the bathroom . It may have been built in 70s and is dated its a great place for short stay.

I was fatigue from my drive from Auckland to Tauranga. Paeroa is about 1 hour 20 minutes from Tauranga. I just had to stop and rest. Got the last room, $90. Older styled motel, but very comfortable with all the amenities, close to town. Wise decision to rest and travel the next day, fresh and alert.

Stayed here for one night in Jan 15. Typical motel stopover of in late out early, staff were friendly. The room had everything that was needed and was very spacious. Everything was working and clean. Would recomend if you are driving through.
