Wonderful setting of timber chalets by the river, but the facilities were quite run down. Floors creaked; walls provided little sound insulation; drain downpipe was not attached to the sink, hence water would spill down to the bathroom floor; the front door couldn't be latched properly; and I changed my mind about sitting at the balcony as there were too many ants there. Breakfast was mediocre. On the positive side, the taps had ample running water, and the water heater worked, as did the aircond units, the electric jug and the TV, although the TV reception wasn't very good. The swimming pool has been kept in satisfactory condition.

Located next to "sungai Perak". A good place to relax by the pool, facing the river. The room and facilities require major upgrading and improvement. The TV reception was bad. Limited parking space. The staffs are very friendly.

Located across river from town of Kg Gajah. Next to Pasir Salak historical complex. And next to Sg Perak. Next visit must bring fishing rod.
Lovely Malay Kampung houses on the way to resort. Managed to take photos of 2 hornbills on telephone line near resort.
1 bathroom is not adequate for 4 people. No mirror in bathroom or at sink. Room is spacious for 2 adults. Tv reception not clear. Need better maintenance of chalets. Pools for adults and kids. Didn't manage to taste food as only 2 vouchers for a chalet. Kampung coffee shop outside entrance to resort. Limited parking space. Friendly and helpful staff.

There is not enough parking for group. The room is just nice. Food have to improve a lot. Workers have to retrain to be more profesinal. Overall, this resort is not suitable for big business event or trip

Have been to this resort due to an event near by. This resort seems nice from the outward look, the building looks like Malay Kampung House. We have checked in to a unit with 2 rooms, the family room is very dirty where we can find lizard's poop on the bed sheet and the carpet is sticky! The roof of the bathroom is not well covered where we can see lizards above our head while showering, and the water heater is not functioning! The choice of breakfast is really limited!

Pasir Salak Historical Complex is a pleasant compound of traditional Malay buildings which together form a museum alongside the Perak River about 50 kilometres south of Ipoh.

The Complex was officially opened to the public in 2004. Everything seems peaceful now but it was not always so for it was here that the first British Resident of Perak, Mr. J.W.W. Birch was assassinated in 1875.

Under the Pangkor Treaty signed in 1874, Perak was established as a British Protectorate and an advisor was appointed to the Sultan of Perak. This British advisor or Resident assumed complete control of Perak in all matters except those involving customs and religion

This is an excellent place to retreat and destress, .... a hidden treasure far, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Situated alongside the Perak River, the resort is home to uniquely designed chalets. The architecture of the chalet reflects the Malay heritage of Perak. The intricate carvings of the roofs and walls as well as the interior design of the wooden chalets offer a relaxing place to sleep and rejuvenate. Added to the tranquility of the resort is the fast-flowing Perak River. Fishing enthusiasts would love this place as the resort has a special structure overlooking the river to fish 7/24 if you are a guest - fresh water prawns (udang galah) and indigenous fishes (baung, patin, lampam) are the rare catches. Third, environmentalists too would gush as the pristine and well kept area where flora and fauna are still untouched - storks, egrets and hornbills are common around here. Fourth, Perak's history is just next door, the hidden treasure which is the Pasir Salak Historical Complex. Even though the Complex is still under renovation and closed to the public after the major flooding in 2014, the lawns of the Complex draw visitors to view village houses and other amazing buildings that are purely Perak! History and Britain's initial colonialisation of Malaya is embedded here in Pasir Salak. This is also the location where the first British Resident, J. W.W. Birch was killed and monuments were erected for Perak warriors and Birch. Another must-see location is a grave in memory of Si Puntum which is opposite the Complex. Other attractions within walking distance are the Perak History Gallery and the Pasir Salak Mosque (see the pics). Seriously, the Pasir Salak Green Village Eco Resort is a place to visit more than once!

It is quiet, there is nobody around mostly. The pool is filthy. There are no facilities per se. No food available within the resort. Had to drive out to town about 8km away in poor lighting conditions and small roads. Food options in town are bad. Parking is super scarce within the resort.
The river is right next to the resort and accessible via the resort. It has it's own charm for those who like that kind of view. The garden and general vicinity is quite well-maintained. Except for the pool. That is just disgusting.
Rooms are decent, bedding is decent. Bathrooms can be small and dark.
There is a race-track across the river, and heavily modified cars make laps around it on the days that you are unlucky enough to be around for it. It is terribly noisy and a complete peace-wrecker. Otherwise, it is very very quiet, bordering creepy and spooky.
I won't be returning very quickly, especially with young kids.

This resort gave us an experience of kampung life style stay. The staff are friendly and the food resembles the original Malay traditional meals. We visited the night market at Kampung Gajah which is just 15 mins away. We also cycle around the kampung. Nice !
