We had the "Boudoir Room" which was not large; eclectically decorated, but charming. Muriel's husband an architect, had transformed the Clement V, from a former grocery store. You needed a trail of bread crumbs to find your way from bedroom to breakfast room and back as there were so many twists, turns and levels. Breakfast was fine.

This hotel is a complete gem, we absolutely loved staying here and only wish that we had longer to enjoy beautiful Belves and the wonderful hospitality of the owners Muriel and her husband who were very welcoming and utterly charming. Belves is a wonderful little hamlet and we most definitely will return to this lovely place.

We had heard that Muriel, the owner of the hotel, was a gem, and she is. The hotel is wonderfully restored, and full of charm and ambiance (beautiful rooms!); Muriel and her husband are accommodating and went out of their way to help us with our bike gear, help us with Sunday night reservations at a wonderful restaurant, and help...

What can you say about a property that makes you feel so welcome? Not only is it very French, fresh, clean and tidy our host Muriel is so welcoming friendly and helpful that superlatives are not enough. We arrived late, no problem as Muriel greeted and welcomed us to her hotel - we knew then we were in the right...

My husband, adult son and I stayed for a week at the Clement V Hotel In Belves, Dordogne, France, to attend my niece's wedding in Cadouin and Urval at the end of July, 2015. We are "delighted" that we did so! From the moment I phoned the hotel last Autumn from the USA and spoke with Mme Muriel Fischer, the...

Dear Irene, What can I say!? Even if we are more than happy when our guests do feel "at home" at the CLEMENT V, every word you said is or should be totally natural for a real hotelier. We have been more than pleased to share our property with you, to exchange daily with you and your family (even Yvonne),...

This review is long overdue, and my sincerest apologies to Mariam for not getting to it sooner. My family (me, my wife, a nanny & our 9 month old) traveled to Belves this past summer for a wedding and had a memorable stay at Hotel Clement from the United States. Belves is a beautiful and well preserved medieval city in...

My mother and I stayed at the Clement V during the week before my wedding in late June. Muriel was a wonderful host and the hotel itself was gorgeous throughout. It is in a great position in Belves to be able to explore the town and it offers a very comfortable stay. A number of our wedding guests also stayed...

Muriel, the lady who owns & runs this amazing place, is charming and the perfect hostess. Four of us stayed in the Pope's apartment and the Consul's suite. So much atmosphere and so very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was excellent with perfect pastries. We regretted not having more than one night.

We stayed in Clement V for five nights and used it as our base during our visit of Dordogne. This was the best hotel during our last France visit. It is small and cozy. The owner has a very good taste and attention to the details. Everything there was spotless and dedicated to the customer convenience. Muriel (the owner) tried...

What a charming hotel... actually more like an intriguing home with some very interesting artefacts. You would never guess the extent of the property from the street view, nor that there is a delightful little garden to enjoy. Our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom, and the air conditioning hardly made a murmur! Breakfast was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of Belvès, medieval city, one of the « Plus Beaux Villages de France », this former grocery shop has been transformed into a charming hotel. Michel and Muriel Fischer’s goal was to give the whole a “home sweethome” intimate atmosphere. Nothing was left to chance between the personalized welcome, the daily exchanges with the couple about tips and sites to discover, the harmony of the antique furniture (family owned and/or gathered) combined with the quality of the materials and fabrics. The bedrooms are spacious (26m² the smallest to 60m² the largest), individual controlled air-conditioning and/or heating, WC are separate from the bathroom. Beauty and calm in the heart of all major sites, castles and bastides. ... more   less
