First of all, if you are arriving from Labuan Bajo, you should calculate a minimum of 5 hours driving to Ruteng. Going rate for private transport is by now approximately 400.000 IDR, considerably cheaper if you can hitch a ride in a minibus. If you want to book ahead, only way is phoning +6238522834, thank God for Skype :-) We...

Most hotels on Flores are not so good. this one is basic but clean. there is not wifi but the beds are comfortable and there are almost no mosquitos which on flores is a great asset for a hotel. another asset is that the hotel is actually a monastery which is still used. this is definitely an experience. to sum...

We spent one night here on our way from Labuan Bajo to Bajawa. The room was small and simple but clean and there was hot shower. The sisters and staff were friendly. If you're looking for a place just for the night, this is certainly a very nice place to stay. The gate closes at 9 pm. We were fine...

We stayed here for one night. It is basic, clean accommodation. Our room consisted of twin beds and a small bedside table. There is an ensuite which has a shower and toilet. It is very basic accommodation but the pillows and blankets leave a bit to be desired for. The breakfast is fine, serving of toast and eggs, tea and...

There are not many places to stay in Ruteng. This was fine for one night to break the journey between Labuan Bajo and Bajawa. I would probably stay here again as it was clean. It would be nice if they bought some new linen as the sheets were pretty thin.

Very clean but very small and cell like rooms. No atmosphere. I mean for flores standards it is ok but i Wouldnt go there if there was a more cosy alternative. It also gets very cold at night and we only had a very thin blanked. Bit spartan & very basic.

Susteran St Maria, known local as MBC, is a nunnery that has guest rooms for travelers. While the rooms are basic, they are very comfortable, with even hot water to the sink (uncommon is SE Asia). Beware, they lock the gate at 9:00PM; I had to wake a nun when I came back at 9:15. The best thing about this...

This was recommended by a local tourism student we met at Lingco Ricefields on the way to Ruteng. We had a scooter so there was no problem with the hotel being located away from the city centre. Accommodation and breakfast provided within a Convent run by Nuns and their students - a bit like what locals all an all girls...

Ok let it be said the 5 star review is all relative to other accommodation on Flores. For the price (a little lower than other hotels in the region) this is totally worthwhile. Nice clean room, basic but comfortable. Was welcomed after four hours on a motorbike in the rain with a nice warm shower. Completely no-frills, but so is...

We came here for one night. I must say it's the best sleep I have had in a long time. The only noise is of oneself breathing. Clean rooms and spacious. Early evening one could hear the nuns singing a pray which was soothing for the ears. Ten minute walk to the shops and local restaurants.
