This hotel is on top of a hill with either a steep set of steps or a steep winding drive! But when you get to the top the views are terrific. They were still repairing the hotel after the hurricane. Be aware there are no lifts and there are short flights of steps to reach amenities and rooms. Our room...

The hotel is on top of a hill and is build around a former fortress. If you want to walk into town, make sure your legs are in good condition and shoes have rubber soles. Remember that all hotels are owned by the government and many of the staff are doing their compulsory 2-years of public service by working at...

We just returned from Baracoa Cuba. We stayed four nights at the Hotel El Castillo. When in Baracoa, it is the best place to stay. An old fort on the top of the hill converted to a hotel a long time ago. The views are great. The pool is wonderful. The food is Cuban. Which is not why you go...

Best hotel in town - great location and awesome views from the rooms. The pool is great - even though it gets overcrowded sometimes with visitors coming to the hotel only for the pool. The food is great, incredibly fresh ingredients cooked really well and at a very cheap price. The rooms need a refurbishment - the shower was broken...

It is a lot better to stay at a casa particular (as B&Bs are normally called in Cuba...). It was too expensive for what it was and we missed the service we received at casas throughout our trip. Do not get me wrong, people in Baracoa are very nice but staff at this government run hotel left a sour taste...

A very nice hotel with very friendly staff. The cocktails at the swimming pool are great and the swimming pool is very clean. They have a little gym and you can get a massage. A good breakfast. The stairs up to the hotel are not so tough.

Quality hotel above the city with a nice view. Staff helpful. Room clean, but dysfunctional refrigerator and air conditioning. Pool for hotel guests only, clean. Food tasty and plentiful. I recommend.
