We stayed there during Grand Prix to avoid the high prices being charged by more central hotels. The price was right. No frills here. Small room. No TV. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. But it's a beautiful setting. Grounds are pleasant to walk. Lots of recreational activity nearby. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Clean. It has wifi. Decent breakfast buffet included.

I reserved this hotel for my son, but he had issues finding Uber at the location. I called the hotel, and I was told that I could shorten the stay without additional charges. I have been battling for months since then… There were 3 additional charges to my credit card, and the merchant refuses to refund, giving absurd excuses every time. What should be a simple clarification with the hotel, turned into several calls and emails with VISA and my bank. I do not recommend this hotel!

You need a place to relax and to live in the old-time. It's here in Manoir d'Youville. The place is very quiet, clean and very relaxing. Despite there is no air conditioning the room is very well aerated. The breakfast is simple and sufficient. Really the place deserves a try.

What a wonderful change of pace and scenery. The minute you walk into Manoir D’Youville, you're immediately transported into a different era, a time warp if you will. I guess that’s what happens when you decide to lodge at an ex-convent. As I was booking my stay, the initial plan was to find a modest priced room and being a solo traveler, a sense of safety. Turns out, not only were my needs met but so much more was offered to me. Unexpected gifts like simplicity, contemplation and quietness. As you walk down the main hallway you can learn and appreciate the history of the resort via an artistic narrative of the original founder Sainte Marguerite D’Youville and her congregation of nuns, Les Soeurs Grises. You definitely get a sense of their lives as you walk the exterior grounds. You can find an original flour mill, an orchard, a little holy cave. The Manoir is surrounded by the St-Lawrence River, trees, and plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit your butt in and appreciate the beauty of tranquillity. Customer service was excellent and you can easily tell these people take much pride in their work, something we don’t see everyday. So thanks! The complementary breakfast is simply outstanding. Hot, fresh and plenty of variety. It puts every single one of my free breakfast experiences to shame. The excellent food does a good job making you forget you don’t have a bathroom or tv in your room. A communal lavatory is a stretch for me but it was clean. I was under the impression the bathrooms would be divided by gender but they were not. No awkwardness, creepiness or long waiting times to report. Keep in mind there is no a/c in your tiny room. Along with record breaking temperatures, it was hot as heck! The ceiling fan wasn’t much help. Menopausal women beware :) I can certainly see why yoga groups, companies seeking a retreat location or anyone looking for serenity would flock to this place as the vibe is super zen - This buried treasure was certainly the highlight of my trip. P.S. Don’t forget your bathing suit, great pool! P.S.S. Added bonus; free wifi and cribbage boards -

Travelling with my two kids one 18 and one 16. We arrived on the beautiful island at 10:30 am and though our room was not ready we were able to use the pool which was pristine and heated and they also supplied towels.. We really enjoyed it and afterwards we had a lovely lunch at La Traite Restaurant, right beside the pool (not included in package). We were able to check in at 1:30. We had room 11 which is really two adjoining rooms with full bathroom. Clean and cozy , no TV's which suited us fine since we were not there to watch TV. They do have a cozy living room on each floor with a TV. (Free WIFI however) in the hotel. My eldest daughter and my youngest daughter's boyfriend joined us and we went off on the Pontoon for an 75 minute ride down the Chateauguay river . The Captain was so nice and pointed out all the wildlife. We were supplied with binoculars and it was ever so pleasant. We then went for another swim before supper. The supper was included in our package (for three). It was held at La Traite Restaurant. We had a choice of cesar salad or soup followed by the main course and Tiramisu for dessert. Incredible supper included in our package. After supper we went on the nature trail and saw no less than 8 deer very close to us. It was getting late so we did not do the whole trail. We had a very enjoyable sleep in the quiet hotel. The next morning breakfast was served at the hotel in buffet style. Eggs bacon sausages potatoes pancakes...the works and all you can eat. We decided to walk the entire nature trail which was an amazing sight of rare birds, more deer frogs etc...After the long walk we took a dip in the pool again. Then came lunch at the hotel which was a buffet of sauteed chicken , mash potatoes , fried zucchini, spaghetti, salad bar, dessert etc...much enjoyed by all. Check out was at noon and we stayed to just sit in the Adirondack chairs and visit the grotto and the rest of the island and apple orchards. In sum, A FABULOUS overnight get away with three meals each (9 meals) for under 200$)!! Much appreciated and much enjoyed. Thank you!

The pictures on line make this look like a wonderful inviting waterfront resort. It's not. The word asylum comes to mind. There is room in the unit for a bed. Yes. That's it. No toilet or shower (that's down the hall). No I'm not kidding. No TV. No phone. No clock. (Also found in the hall, the industrial kind found in hanging off the wall). The smells were also interesting. It ranged from disinfectant to mold. We thought we'd make the best of it and have dinner in the bistro. Again the smell was overpowering. Sauerkraut? Also a burger was$30. Again, I couldn't make this stuff up. Run away. Screaming.

We are sincerely sorry that you did not appreciate our establishment. We are an affordable and very simple 2 star hotel located in a naturally beautiful place. Recognized as a place to get away from everyday life without television, without a clock, etc. We actually have several rooms without bathroom, but also rooms with bathroom. In terms of smell and cleanliness, we are terribly sad that it did not live up to your expectations. The cleanliness of our hotel is one of the most appreciated items of our guests. Wishing you at least enjoyed the sunset that falls on Lake St. Louis

Board retreats, national gatherings, I was here for a faith community administration conference. This place lends itself to faith or retreats because of the vast pastoral setting and the humble quarters - shared showers and washrooms. But there is a sink in your room. If you can get over that, it's a wonderful place. Nice simple food, good coffee. Free open wifi. Warning, this place has been here maybe for a century and no taxi/airport limo driver can get to the dang place after 5pm. So make sure your phone is out and Google Maps is on! NO hotel conference centre can compete with these beautiful grounds. Walk on the water and your hotel key gets you into the bird sanctuary! Awesome.
