The grounds of this hotel are absolutely gorgeous with views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and two pools, one salt-water pool along-side the Mediterranean Sea. Be careful what rooms they give you. The rooms on the upper floors seem to be in better shape. We were originally given rooms on the first floor that needed a lot of care. The bathrooms were old and everything looked as if it were not updated in years. We complained and they moved us one floor up to much better accommodations. The rooms were a bit bigger and much cleaner. The staff did not understand English. Breakfast was just ok. Not much in the immediate area.

In fact, I visited this hotel by accident some 30 years ago. It was a magical experience. I cannot emphasise the effect this place had on me and as much as I want to return, it is always fully booked which says it all really. A most wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was out of this world, the views magnificent and everything you would expect from a Sicilian experience. I hope it has not deteriorated since then but I imagine it has been discovered but I trust those more recent visitors were treated with as much grace as I experienced. The Sicilians are wonderful people, if not a little mysterious which made it all the more enchanting. Go, you will not regret it and you will be rewarded with an enlighting and enriching experience. An experience of a lifetime. Say hello to Franco and Stefano from us. Sally and Sue.
