We booked this lodge through Eco Lodges Indonesia who run this lodge and a number of other remote lodges in Indonesia. Both the car & boat transfer went smoothly and overall we found our 3 night stay a great alternative to staying on a Klotok (traditional boat). The staff were lovely and although the accommodation was basic, there was a...

Keeping in mind where the hotel is and what your options are, this hotel is a good choice if you have rented a boat and don't care to sleep on it with no AC or shower. We stayed in a room with AC which worked fine, we had perfect hot showers and the room is comfortable, the furniture seems quite...

If you a fans of eco tourism, visit Tanjung Puting National Park in Borneo and stay at Rimba Eco Lodge. This lodge is located in Sekoyer river bank on the way to the National Park. The river is the only access to the area. The hotel is built above forest wet land. Between rooms and other facilities are connected by...

W greatly appreciate your comments on our lodge. Built in 1991, we purchased it in 2004 and slowly improved the place. It gives us real pleasure that you enjoyed it especially the ecological aspects. Alan Wilson, Chairman of the Board, Ecolodges Indonesia

As good as it gets for the middle of the rain forest. Lacking in a few areas but its too be expected. Friendly staff and better option than the boat. You go to see the orangutans and that's what we got. :)

Thank you for your report. You have expressed what we are - a comfortable (not luzurious) lodge where guests can rest while seeing this wonderful area. Our staff are all local people and our company strongly believes in local job creation as a vital conservation measure Thank you for your support, Alan Wilson, Chairman of the Board, Ecolodges Indonesia

I doubt anyone comes here for the hotel experience because of course it's all about the orangs and on this basis Rimba Lodge ticks the box and does the job. Over the course of our three night stay we were out and about on the river by 8 am and not returning until 5 pm - so really Rimba served...

Rimba sets out to be an Eco friendly lodge in the heart of the Borneo jungle. It seeks to provide comfortable accommodation, employing local people using local materials and saving resources. It places itself at the heart of the Orangutang conservation area and its existence helps promote and support this great project and for us all to see these magnificent...

We had a fantastic 3 days in Tajung Putin NP on a trip ex Bali, organised by Orangutan Odysseys. We chose to stay 2 nights at Rimba instead of on the klotok because my health is a bit fragile and I need a decent rest to function the next day. Rimba is quite humble, say basic 2 star, but a...

Apologies for the delay in thanking you for your review. We have plans to develop a large solar energy plant at the Rimba and thus hope to make it a 24 hour AC establishment. This should also improve all services. Thank you

The lodge is located near the national park, the rooms are basic but good. The food in the restaurant is average but the service is great. It is not a luxury lodge but good for what it is. There are a lot of monkeys in the hotel that can make alot of noise at nigth. But that is part of...

If one compares Rimba to other place in the world, one would definite describe it as poor, but looking at the other places in the nearby area, it is a good place to stay. Warm water is available, the food is okay, not great but reasonable. Beds are clean as well. As we did the tour with the rimba lodge...

The resort is extremely remote, a 2 hour boat ride from town. The grounds are well kept and the resort truly is beautiful. The rooms--well I think the recent complaints about upkeep are based on expectations. Instead of expecting a 5 star European style resort, instead set your expectations for a 2 star Southeast Asia hotel and you'll know what...
