We have visited The Hotellerie St Jean many times both to stay and to visit the fabulous restaurant. The rooms are contemporary and offer adequate comfort with Air conditioning, TV and free internet connection . The rooms at the front can be a little noisy due to the main Thouars - Partheny road . As for the food ,it's worth...

We have been eating in the restaurant of the Hotellerie Saint Jean for many years, and as foodies are quite choosy about where and what we eat. This restaurant has never failed to impress. The food is excellent as is the service and the choice of wines from the local area and beyond also good. All at a very reasonable...

I was in room #9 which was clean, small and basic. The bed was American full size with good pillows. The closet was small and there was no other storage except on a small desk. The restaurant and patio was so nice that I only went to my room when I was ready to sleep. The restaurant has several excellent...

Some of our choir stayed here for 4 nights. It was very comfortable and there was an excellent selection for breakfast. Dinner in the restuarant far surpassed expectations. The staff were ftiendly and nothing appeared to be a bother to them. The rooms were very clean and smelt fresh. The only downside was the decor - bright yellow and orange...

A friend and I stayed here for one night (Sunday) on a motorcycle tour. The hotel was booked on line through a booking agency. An email from the owner informed us that reception would not be open when we arrived (17.00 on Sunday evening) and gave us an entry code for the front door. Our room key was to be...

This family run hotel is conveniently located on the Thouars ring-road. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, with a good choice of dishes. The service was extremely good (and friendly). We ate inside, but there is also a terrace overlooking the town.

This is a wayside hotel on the road out of Thouars. It has a pleasant view over the old town but otherwise is in an unremarkable area. The Hotel itself is clean, functional with simple bedrooms but a warm friendly welcome. But the real reason for visiting is the restaurant. Deserving of a 'Michelin Bib Gourmand', it is great value...

This hotel is visible from the main road running round Thouars and a useful stopover if you are travelling through this part of France. It has nice views of Thouars from the front/restaurant area. Parking on site. Nice, clean functional rooms with TV. Fine restaurant as part of the establishment offering good choice of food and wine at very reasonable...

This hotel is pretty standard, you pays your money and you get a room and a shower and breakfast. The restaurant is excellent, well worth staying here. However the hotel is right on a fairly busy road, so don't think that you will be getting rural charm or peace and quiet here!

Arrived in Le Havre around midday. Hadn't pre booked accomodation en route to La Rochelle. Thouars was about 5/6 hours drive and we were ready to stop. Hotel conveniently sited on the by pass and a modern building. Don't be put off by the fact that the Saint Jean is a 2 star Logis. Our room was spotlessly clean and...
