Absolutely love this place, been coming here since Kate and the team took over. It's become a firm favourite Sunday roast location, Kate And the team always go above and beyond for all their customers. The food itself is just pure class, home made food cooked from the heart. Highly recommend booking mid week or on a Sunday 👌🏼👌🏼 you won't be disappointed. Thanks again for another amazing Sunday 🌸

Excellent service, unmatched in charm and hospitality. Immediately felt welcomed, as did my dog companion who was greeted with genuine enthusiasm and even treated to dog biscuits in the room. Great selection of luxuries and very comfortable bed, in a brilliant location for stunning views and local walking and shopping opportunities. But it doesn't stop there! Not only were the staff very accommodating of our somewhat naughty dog, their culinary skills were excellent and allowed us to dine alongside our four legged child in their well stocked bar. Breakfast was superb and thoroughly enjoyed by all 3 of us. Overall I highly recommend and plan to return in the future !!!

My husband and l really enjoyed our experience at this lovely pub. We were greeted promptly by a very pleasant lady who was the owner. She was very attentive and professional. There was plenty of choice on the menu. I chose the pie of the day which was lamb and mint and my husband had the gammon. Both main courses were a good sized portion, hot and delicious. It was also a refreshing change to be offered homemade desserts both the pineapple and pear crumble and the sticky toffee pudding were to die for. Along with a shared starter of cheesy garlic bread, a large glass of wine and a coke the bill was excellent value at £45.80. We will definitely be calling in again when next in the area, definitely highly recommended.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and our rather exuberant dog. Both ourselves and the dog were given a brilliant welcome - this place is not just 'dog friendly' to get punters through the door, they were genuinely wonderful with our dog.

The pub itself is a great place to eat some proper pub grub and drink the night away. Kate and her daughter run a fantastic ship, chef knocks up a cracking breakfast, everyone very friendly and sociable, rooms are big and nice, location is just fantastic - from the windows you can see the brooding mountains overlooking you. I slept like a log every night here, very large and comfortable bed.

It is a short drive from some spectacular walking, mountains, waterfalls, reservoirs, perhaps the most well located pub in the region. And it is not far from Brecon or Penderyn (for a trip to the distillery on winding, steep, glorious single track roads), so although it is remote enought to feel a sense of escape into nature, there are lots of things nearby if you need supplies.

We would definitely visit again.

Had a Sunday roast here , a party of 20 with 2 babies, a lovely room to ourselves ( just as well as we're a noisy bunch) we were blown away by the quality of the food, a real home cooked roast with all the trimmings, plenty of everything and lovely puddings to follow. Amazing service too, all the food arrived quickly and was hot and very good prices.
A family run pub with Mum keeping everything in order, daughters serving and dad on the pots apparently! We couldn't recommend more highly.
Just a shame we were only in the area for the weekend for a family birthday or would come again .

We ate here the evening before climbing Pen y Fan.
After booking a few days in advance , the landlady kindly rang us to let us know that if we wanted a Sunday roast that evening , we were advised to book incase they were sold out. The heads up was appreciated as the meal was yum!
The roast pork was really delicious, with a smashing melting texture . Accompanied by plenty of crispy and floury roasties, hearty portions of nicely cooked vegetables . Extra gravy was served without asking.
All the food was piping hot.

Lovely meal .

Visited with friends and family on a Sunday afternoon. Really friendly service. Extra help /advice regarding gluten free options for coeliac and quite a few things to choose from.. Food was lovely roasts, steaks, vegan+ gluten free lasagne, kids meals, 3/4 deserts were also gluten free. Stunning view of the mountains. Overall great pub, traditional style but relaxed atmosphere.

We were in need of dinner after a strenuous day in the mountains, and despite being fully booked we were accommodated. Top notch home made food, I had lamb and veg pie with chips and veg, my pal had the lasagne. Delicious. Probably the best pie I’ve ever had. Well kept beers behind the bar too. Very friendly and welcoming staff and locals, it’s the sort of pub we could have stayed in all night. We want to return!!

So pleased we found this place for a family meal on our holiday in the Brecons. They easily accommodated our large-ish party and were friendly and responsive when we booked. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, we especially liked the sundaes included with the children’s meals.

I stayed on July 1st the night before the AEE Fan Dance the following day . From the start everything was genuine and friendly. My dinner was excellent and my room was super clean and comfortable. The guys even sorted out a take away breakfast as I went to join the event I was a competitor in extremely early .
Tair Bull is excellent.
