This is the only hotel on Koh Trong Island. I suggest staying in Kratie and taking the boat across to the island for an afternoon. I can't recall the cost of the boat - it was minimal - and it crossed every 15-20 minutes. Don't forget to confirm the time of the last boat!!! Anyway, the hotel was traditional style,...

This is a nice resort, with wonderful traditional Khmer lodges set in a garden buzzing with life. We loved it. Tree frogs, birds, insects, the place was alive. Even had a colony of giant fruit bats next door. The pool area was nice, if a bit sagging at one end, but that didn't detract from the serenity we felt from...

Dear guest, Thanks for staying with us, service was indeed "special" the night you were there as most of the staff was gone to the GM's house warming party ! We are open 365 days a year, so we have to let our staff enjoy themselves every once in a while... Glad, but not surprised, to hear my wife later...

From Kratie you have to take a ferry to the island of Koh Trong to get to this property. When the river is low it involves a lot of steps down. On the Island you go on the back of a motorbile across the wide beach, up the bank and then a few Km to the hotel. Once there the...

The journey to the villa was brilliant - local ferry, motorbikes across the beach and then a Tuk Tuk to the hotel. Each villa is gorgeous - baths not showers - and mosquito nets on the beds. We had 2 villas, 6 & 9. Villa 9 had 2 double beds, one in a little side room which was great for...

Dear guest, Thanks for staying with us, sorry for your "wild encounter", but frogs are everywhere in the Cambodian countryside, yet they are harmless animals. We prefer "hard mattresses" as the are better for the back and routinely recommended by doctors. Best regards,

Altough the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and that the villas are typical, I have been rather disappointed by our experience. The service is pretty bad, not to say nonexistant, and the food is average. I guess that if you keep in mind that it is a 3 stars hotel, you will be fine. By the way,...

We have just stayed 2 nights at this gem resort, and wish we were able to stay longer! It is a haven of peace in bustling Cambodia which enabled us to find nature again and relax! The rooms suspended on stilts with beautiful wood carvings around the walls to give light and air and with the windows open we had...

Very friendly staff, beautiful wooden and airy rooms, verry good Khmer and Western Cuisine, just a beautiful hotel to take a break from rhe busy cambodia!!! Short trip with the ferry to the island and from there a 3min. moped or Tuk tuk (from the hotel owner) ride to the hotel. No other restaurant around... but because of that there...

Rajabori Villa Resort is lush and peaceful. Individual bungalows are large and comfy. The food at their restaurant is good but pricey. A good place to chillax! In my opinion, other than the dolphins, there is nothing to see or do in Kratie.

This hotel - or rather set of simulated native houses - is on an island accessible only by ferry and no cars. We rode motorcycles to our destination which was an experience in itself. The venue has a pool, very nice indeed and is ecologically friendly which means at night there is little to no electricity as the solar panels...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rajabori is a confidential resort made of 11 traditional Khmer wooden houses located North of the island of Koh Trong in front of the town of Kratie. We created it to allow a deep immersion in an unspoiled part of old Cambodia for travelers fond of nature and discovery. Access is by boat then tuktuk or moped. The trip to the resort through the island's countryside is beautiful and is a small adventure in itself. For now, The Rajabori has thirteen rooms spread into eleven traditional wooden houses, single or double. To accompany this discovery of traditional Cambodia, our villas and all public spaces have been furnished and decorated in typical Khmer style with what we have collected over the years in all provinces of the country. Our idea is to re create an old style Cambodian village in the protected environement of Koh Trong Island. As a matter of fact, everywhere else in Cambodia, traditional wooden houses are being destroyed to make way for ugly blocks of concrete that have become the new « chic » in contemporary Khmer society. An entire architectural heritage of incalculable value and is being ruthlessly swept under the carpet... We wanted to go against this tide by bringing together a number of well trained craftsmen who perpetuate a thousand year old savoir-faire. ... more   less
