We stayed here three nights last week and I loved every minute of it! This isn't an upmarket designer hotel by any means so please don't book expecting that. This is a small b&b with lots of personality owned by a friendly couple. It is a small B&B which used to be a working Blacksmith's Forge. The main communal/dining area...

We stayed at the Forge at the end of August as we were taking a trip to South of Bordeaux. My partner and I and his parents. I chose the place because it looked to be very quirky. It is exactly that but the rooms are clean and the owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We used to the pool...

We arrived at around 5 pm to be greeted with a note on the door telling us that we would be welcomed between 6 pm and 10 pm, so went off for an early meal. First instinct was to go to the ferry terminal and come straight home. However, as we were with friends, we went back... We managed just...

A strange place this - and not just because of the things that other reviews mention...I booked in here with my wife and our 15-month old because we could only find an early morning Channel Tunnel crossing after a week in Burgundy. I know Guines fairly well from having stayed at the local Castles and Camping site for years -...

The accommodation itself does not look very inviting. A lot of rubbish outside, that was already described in a review from another traveller some years ago...!, the pool is green and very dirty. There is proper parking space for only two cars whereas the house apparently can accommodate 12 people. The diningroom/reception is old and cramped with lots of stuff...

We stopped here last week and it is defianatelydifferent. La Forge as the name would suggest is an old blacksmiths property. The fireplace in the dining room is the original hearth and has the original trough where the blacksmith would have quenched his tools in front of it.The owners are fantastic if you stay here and they offer you a...

We found La Forge an absolute delight, full of character with a warm, friendly welcome. We had the 'Poppy' room, which was very pretty and set out like a 'bed-sit'. We were fascinated by the history of the forge that the proprietor uses during the winter to heat the place. We had our breakfast within the room with the forge...
