We had a very pleasant 1 night stay at Sir Henry's in June. The room was very cosy, with underfloor heating and the nice touch of some sherry to warm you up! An excellent breakfast will set you up for the day exploring the lovely little town of Clarens.

What a little gem. Sir Henry's never fails to impress. Beautifully situated in the sleepy dirt roads of Clarens this guesthouse is magnificent. Hands on owner Ralph makes you feel right at home, beautiful rooms and amazing gardens with breath taking scenery ensure a relaxing stay. The breakfast is something you have to experience!

Really nice place to visit, guest house owners are very hospitable and making the visit to this very nice town enjoyable. Golden Gate National park is a must see, Clarens itself is a very nice town with little shops, gallery's and good restaurants, good place to visit for 2 days and not to far from Pretoria or Johannesburg.

Sir Henry's guest house is a gem hidden in the Free State. We had a great time relaxing and soaking in the beautiful surroundings. Rooms are big, classy and cozy. The breakfasts are superb - a must for anyone who likes a good meal to start the day off with. We'll definately return.

Warm and friendly staff. Super breakfast, homely and spacious rooms and make sure to take a walk in the garden. I stay in Clarens regularly and Sir Henry's has been best by far. Can't wait to come back with my family for a weekend. Likes....vintage books, shower - head, fireplace. .. see you again!

When staying in Clarens, Sir Henry's Guest House is my favourite guest house in the area. The rooms are always clean, breakfast is plentiful and the views amazing. On my last trip the owner even took time out from his busy schedule to help me with my faulty car. This speaks volumes for his desire to help his guests and...

My wife and I have visited Clarens in the winter for the past four years. We were unable to get a booking at the B&B we usually stay at so we booked at Sir Henry's because four years ago it had ranked as one of the best on tripadvisors list of places to stay in Clarens. It has in recent...

For the price - this is one of Claren's more expensive accommodation offerings - I had expected not just a little more, but a lot more. We came down from Joburg and had decided to pay a premium to be able to enjoy an experience where we had to do little thinking for ourselves, and leave the house packed with...
