We stayed for one night with our 2 dogs. We were greeted by a pleasant lady in reception but I later read that you will be greeted with a homemade flapjack that we did not receive :( We were shown to our room and provided with dog beds and bowls which is helpful because it's less stuff to bring with...

We booked the 2-night Gourmet Dog Lovers Escape at the Moonraker Hotel through Pets Pyjamas and both my husband and I as well as our two Westies were made to feel welcome from the outset of arrival at Reception. The break included a Superior room, which had a king size bed, a two-seater sofa and stylish bathroom. Our room was...

I always wondered what was behind the James Bond name and in essence it is an English country house with bags of charm. The restaurant was large, elegant and welcoming although not so romantic. The food and service was really terrific with a menu of unusual choices and presentation. I quite honestly don't have a negative thing to say.

Great service, friendly staff where nothing is too much to ask Good food, especially like the 'specials board' with its variety :) From the moment you enter the hotel, staff are welcoming and smiling regardless of time or weather! Lovely log fire to blow the winter blues away

We visited here through a groupon deal, meaning the 5 course tasting menu was around half price. The food was good for the price we paid, however I would never pay full price - simply not worth it. Highlight was the house smoked salmon with whipped goats cheese. Low point was the desert of pastry, fruit and cream which seemed...

Just stayed for four nights for business and it felt like I was at home. It was comfortable, excellent service from Linda at breakfast to Olivia at dinner. Rooms are cosy, warm with character and the food was superb. Great spot and worth a visit!

A wonderful hotel to stay at. From the moment you check-in, you feel valued and appreciated. The rooms are of a high standard, the food is excellent and the icing on the cake is the way you are treated by all the staff. Special mention to Olivia who brings a positivity and friendly passion to your restaurant experience. Highly recommended.

Such a gorgeous building and the staff are wonderful, happy and knowledgeable. I have a lot of food intolerances and they always find something tasty for me to eat with no fuss. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, lovely décor too.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Moonraker hotel, a grade 2 listed 21 bedrooms Manor house situated on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon/ Trowbridge and a 15 minute drive from the Bath Spa. Mentioned in the Domesday book as being part of the Abbess of Glastonbury's estate, the Manor house was originally build in Queen Ann Style before being upgraded in the 17th century to Bath stone. Purchased by Tudor & Lucy Hopkins in July 2013 the hotel has undergone a full refurbishment including transforming the restaurant into a relaxed informal dining space. Head Chef Matthew Briddon (River cafe, Paul Heathcotes) joined the team in September 2013 and has created menus around the hotels kitchen garden and onsite smokery. Nine bee hives provide the hotel honey and rare breed pigs live on the grounds. Kathy Lette (writer and author) stayed at The Old Manor and wrote an article for the Express where she said: 'The bedrooms, with their four poster beds and wide wooden roof beams, are so Jane Austen-esque I kept expecting Mr Darcy to get down on bended knee' The Moonraker oozes old world charm and is a relaxed cotsworld escape with some of the UK's top attractions on its doorstep. ... more   less
