The entire team at the Costa Narejos hotel looks forward to lifting the confinement restrictions caused by the coronavirus, and wants you and your family to meet perfectly. As you will be aware, the Government has prepared different phases in the de-escalaada to return to "normality" in a reasonable time that allows mobility between different parts of our country, and for us to function, taking the appropriate health precautions, being able to use a significant number of rooms, as well as common areas. Unless change of criteria from our goverment, the date indicated in this regard is that of July 3rd, which we have taken as a reference to make the hotel open. We are sorry that we are unable to accommodate reservations with dates prior to July 3rd. This exclusive four-star hotel offers 191 stylish rooms including 1 suite, 5 junior suites and 58 family rooms (with a spacious living area with a sofa bed). Each of the 191 rooms and suites is equipped with a safe, air-conditioning, telephone, satellite T.V., mini-bar and an en-suite bathroom with hairdryer. The hotel is located in Los Alcázares which boasts one of the best beaches of the Mar Menor, 'Los Narejos' and is in an excellent location. It is easily accessible from San Javier Airport (3 kilometres ), Alicante Airport (60 kilometres ), the train station (14 kilometres) and is also in close proximity to the motorway. This hotel offers a warm and friendly atmosphere with all the excellent facilities you would expect from a 4-star hotel.

Booked 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast and wasn't disappointed at all. Free underground parking. Check in was smooth. We upgraded our room (extra €10 per night) and got a top floor room overlooking the pool with fabulous views of the sea.
Used the "spa", 2 Jacuzzis, sauna and steam room, came away feeling very relaxed.
Buffet for breakfast, plenty of choice and it varied the days we were there. Evening meals were fine, lovely salad selection for starters, good choice of fish and meat with vegetables and potatoes, a pasta section and good choice of fruit and desserts.

My only complaint was, the salad dishes (potato salad or veg salad) all contained fish/seafood but this was not clearly marked. Dangerous with my seafood allergy!! Also the vegetables were odd combinations and in creamy sauces, plain fresh veg would have been nicer.

Hotel was clean and tidy, outdoor areas were kept clean too. Pool was useable in the end of Oct as its in the sun most of the day.

Its a 2 minute walk to the lovely quiet sandy beach and over the road is a huge selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Evening entertainment was advertised but as no one participated, the lady organising it shut down early. I'm sure this would not be the case in the higher season.

I'd recommend this hotel for its closeness to the beach and restaurants, its sunny pool area and friendliness of the staff.

The Hotel is all about Location! Location! Location. You can fly to Corvera Airport or Alicante and it is a 40 to 60 min journey by taxi from there to the hotel. We got a 16.40 flight from Dublin and arrived in time for dinner that evening. Location is right beside the sea and by that I mean a 5 min walk , so as regular sea swimmers, that was fabulous for us. The sea was a balm for our busy souls with sunbeds, brollies and a little churingita (coffee spot) it was bliss!

There is a choice of room sizes and as the world cup was on we went for a bigger size room so himself could watch the matches and I could read in the bedroom. There's a balcony with every room and the linens are regularly changed by very friendly staff. They have air conditioning so it is lovely to get back to a cool room after a day in the sun.

The food OMG it is just gorgeous and what a choice. We went for bed, breakfast and evening meal and what a spread each day. Again the staff are superb and the food is served buffet style with the staff replenishing the food trays as they are emptied. You can get wine with the meal in the evening and they have some lovely specials in the wine categories on offer! The bar has a happy hour Mon to Fri and excellent entertainment in the evenings. There was a terrific Flamenco show which we really enjoyed. Such talent and I believe the dancer's day job is also in the hotel!

The hotel is a lovely size not like those tiny boutique hotels where you can't swing a cat. There's a big reception area with lots of comfy seats and couches also a library where you can read and have a bit of quiet time. As you may have guessed I loved my stay in the hotel so I hope I have tempted you to try it but..........leave some room for me as I'll be back.

We enjoyed our stay in the Costa Narejos and used it as a base for exploring Cartagena. There is little of cultural interest in the immediate vicinity.
The Pros...
Excellent price, fantastic sized room, plentiful storage, pleasant staff and reasonably clean. The bar staff were particularly cheerful and Happy Hour ( actually two hours ) resulted in very cheap drinks. Easy and free parking.
The Cons...
Although plentiful, the buffets were not always hot and fresh vegetables were scarce in the evening.
Brown blankets on the beds...not in this day and age!
Beds rather hard.
Tired decor throughout. It really needs updating and refreshing. It could look super if this was carried out.
I´m sure we shall return.

The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff are helpful. It is convenient to bars and restaurants and the beach.

The weather was not good when we were there so we spent a lot of time in our rooms or in the bar so we particularly noticed the dated decor. We were unable to use the swimming pool because of the unsuitable weather during our visit.

We were on room only board so we did not eat in the hotel. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars very close by.

As a resort, Los Alcázares really caters for the British tourism market, so if you are looking for an authentic Spanish experience, try somewhere else.

Considering that there were still many restrictions caused by the coronavirus when we visited, the hotel staff coped admirably and efficiently without compromising any of the recommended procedures. Comfortable rooms, excellent food, and a one minute walk from a splendid beach. They also cater for guests with special dietary requirements, eg gluten-free

Easy check-in with lovely reception staff, very helpful and attentive.
Rooms were lovely (we stayed in 304 - beautiful views across the bay).
Hotel was very clean.
Restaurant was ok - Breakfast was better than dinner but neither was great (in our opinion, although I’m sure people will like it).
The bar was amazing! Monday - Friday between 5pm - 7pm they have Happy Hour on certain drinks with 40% off. A pint is €2.20!
The pool got good sunshine although you need to chase the sunshine as it moves during the afternoon.
If you want a towel for the pool it is €10 returnable deposit at the bar.
The hotel is in a best location - You are 3 minutes from the beautiful sandy beach. There are bars and restaurants left and right all the way around the bay.
You are also opposite the parade of shops, restaurants and bars. They are currently carrying out upgrade works on the parade so the outside seating for the bars is limited (Sept 24) but I am sure it’ll be beautiful once the works are complete.

Located very close to the sea, the staff's attention is excellent and a varied and quality buffet both in the
Breakfast as well as lunch and dinner.
The hotel is very clean and has a pool that is not very large, we could not enjoy it due to the bad weather, but it had plenty of hammocks around it and it was perfectly prepared for the enjoyment of the guests and we are talking about the month of March .
It was easy to park very close to the hotel and they offered us free of charge to put the car in the parking lot.

My wife and I have been to this hotel on a number of occasions and we love it here, we call it our happy place. Came here in September, our first holiday abroad since covid and nothing seems to have changed. You can either have a pool view where you pay a bit extra or the town side. The rooms are very good and has everything you need. The staff in all departments are all friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the hotel is amazing. The food is varied and is suitable for different tastes. Even Spanish people stay in this hotel so that says something. The location is superb, there is the beach the one side and the Square is the other where there are a number of restarants and bars. I am disabled now and the hotel caters for people like me. We needed to relax after a traumatic year which we easily did here, We prefer to go the beach rather the around the pool. The beach has along promenade where there are plenty of beach bars to choose from. The prices of alcohol is very reasonable and there is a happy hour Monday to Friday. The most expensive bottle of wine was 12 Euros. We will definitely return.

Everything was wonderful from check-in to checkout. The lady managing the Spa was absolutely wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the buffet for breakfast and dinner was amazing with lots of choice. The only issue we have with the buffet is the kids. We saw kids grabbing chips with their hands, choosing food and then putting it back. Playing with the fruit and not taking it. The buffet is not policed by the staff and the parents couldn't care less. There should be a height restriction for kids accessing the buffet. What's the point in having a sneeze guard to protect the food when the kids are shorter than the sneeze guard. This is a health and safety risk. We know that kids sneeze, cough and have dirty hands. Something needs to change and the parents need to be educated. A height restriction is the way forward with plenty of signage on the tables and at the buffet and staff and management need to be vigilant. I will not return to this hotel or eat from the buffet until something is done about this problem.

The structure has slightly old furnishings but beautiful, clean, large, functional and also economical. Excellent buffet breakfast, very plentiful. They gave us a last minute Junior suite at a very low price which was a very pleasant surprise even with a hydromassage tub in the bathroom.

How far is the sea from hotel ? Are there kettles in rooms ? Thanks
Answer from Sue H
The hotel is a short walk from the sea, no more than 5 minutes on flat paving. You have to pay a daily fee for a kettle, but they also provide tea, coffee sugar and milk in with that fee, just ask at reception
