We wanted to break the journey between Christchurch and Blenheim and did not want to stay in Murchison. This is just a small group of adjoining rooms in a stable block type building on a farm. They are well equipped and comfortable with great views across the fields to the mountains. The road is not overly busy and is quiet...

We had one night here & we are coming back. It is at the start of a straight piece of road & round the corner at the end of the straight is Springs Junction. We sat & watched the cows being shifted below us & all the trucks & traffic heading through to Picton or Christchurch. At night the trucks...

What a great little motel. Modern, fresh, clean. Perfect place to stay for a good nights rest to break up your journey through the South Island. Only afew rooms, so I suggest you book in advance if possible. Minutes drive from Springs Junction where all the basics are available. Set on what appears to be an old dairy farm, Idilic...

We stayed here for a night on the way to the St James Walkway. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. We loved the beds. We found everything we needed and the owner was extremely helpful in aiding us to get to the walkway and helping with our questions.

We selected this motel soley because of its location along our route of travel. We were initally a little put off by the gravel road, its rustic appearance and lack of "curb appeal." We were pleasantly surpised by the quality of the accomodations and the helpfullness of the staff. Recommended.

We stayed here on our way to Blenheim. We also travelled with a poodle who had to be accommodated. What a wonderful experience, our dog was greated by the owners pooches, and we really impressed with the motel unit we had. Very well appointed, views just gorgeous, and space to be able to walk the dog. A small motel but...

Our initial plans were to drive via Kaikoura en route to Christchurch but with the road closure meant travel via the Lewis Pass. We had been warned the traffic may be slow so decided to overnight here after leaving from Picton early afternoon and it was absolutely the right choice. We had the end studio unit of the three which...

We stayed here for one night on our way from Blenheim to Christchurch, having to abandon our plans to go via Kaikoura because of the earthquake damage to the road. This was a delightful alternative, just off the main highway but far enough above to be reasonably quiet. Nice deck outside the 3 units with great views across to Mount...

We stay in all levels of lodging and this was one of best in terms of comfort, service, value and even charm. Also great views. Very, very nice and helpful owner. Very convenient for hikers and those traveling the long road from north to south or vice versa since the earthquake.
