My husband and I have just returned from a spectacular weekend at Barcaldine Castle with Liz and Ronnie. This is the first trip in a long time where i have could have been knocked over by a feather as to how fantastic the whole package is. The castle - simply stunning. I have never seen such beauty. Located just a...

It was lovely to meet you both. We are delighted you enjoyed The Castle so much. The Argyll room is very comfortable with a wonderful shower.

My partner brought me to Barcaldine Castle for a surprise birthday treat. The Barcaldine room was a treat with its turret, claw-foot bath and extras like bath robes, good quality chocolate etc! In addition, the characterful hall where one has breakfast and afternoon tea (highly recommended!) together with the parlour and the large open fire combined to create a sense...

Lid and Ronnie were good hosts. The food and location was excellent, but our room was not what we expected. We booked one of the larger rooms with the claw foot tub, 4 months ahead of time. The Barcaldine room was supposed to be ours for our 20th wedding anniversary. When we get to the hotel we are told by...

We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with your stay at Barcaldine Castle and the confusion over the room booking. The comments left in our guest book indicated you were very happy with your stay in June. Each of our five EN-SUITE bedrooms are unique and have their own individual charms with luxury fabrics and finishings and most certainly...

Liz and Ronnie couldn't have been more helpful - cooking scrumptious breakfasts and afternoon tea, and Liz made me a lovely bouquet. We had a wonderful wedding; quiet, intimate, romantic and in a beautiful setting. I cannot praise the service more highly. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights at the castle. It is a tower house so there are circular stairs to walk up and down but it just adds to its charm. The room was spacious, had everything one could want including robes, slippers, coffee, tea, etc. with a wonderful view. The common areas were great and we also found the secret passageways....

As part of a Scottish road trip I was keen to stay in a castle and after some googling stumbled across Barcaldine Castle. At £210 a night we could only really treat ourselves for one night, but we were not disappointed! On first impressions the castle seemed small but cute and once inside you could tell that it had been...

The only thing that wasn't perfect about this place was that we could only stay one night. I enjoyed the fact that the rooms were comfortable, beautiful and full of modern conveniences, and my teenage sons were happy that the true castle atmosphere was maintained. They loved finding the hidden passages. Earlier in the day, we had visited Castle Duone...

Everything about this place was top class. Ronnie and Liz were exceptional hosts and a really nice couple. I had porridge and kippers for breakfast and my wife had salmon. Both meals were excellent. The porridge was the best I have ever tasted. I know this sounds weird to talk about oatmeal in a review but give it a try,...

We stayed one night in Barcaldine Castle and what an unexpected pleasure it was. Lizz and Ronnie are an exceptional couple who could not do enough to make our party of four feel welcome and special. Our rooms were great, beds very comfortable and breakfast next morning was amazing.

We were greeted by Ronnie who after bringing us cups of tea and shortbread sat with us in the cosy wee sitting room and was more than happy to fill us in on the castles history and took the time to find out about us aswell....
