We arrived back in beautiful Ballyfin for the New Years celebrations.
It was a fantastic two nights. Wine & cheese tasting in the cellar was a wonderful way to introduce guests to one another as the dinner that evening in the grand ballroom is at...More

Hi, I haven't done it myself but I am from the vicinity. The train from Dublin takes approx 1 hour. You can book your train seats in advance via Iarnoid Eireann. The taxi drive from Portlaoise station takes a maximum of 15 minutes. I'm sure if you call Ballyfin in advance and let them know what time your train arrives that they will gladly send a car for you. Enjoy your stay there, I hear it's out of this world. Hope this helps!
