A quiet beautiful place to stay and cycle-friendly. Very friendly hosts. Good breakfast. You may need to travel to the nearest main town (Angers) for dinner as local villages don't have too many opportunities but there is more choice for lunch. Great place to chill.

The other reviews say it all! This is a beautiful Chambre D'Hote in the heart of beautiful countryside. The buildings have been sympathetically converted into state of the art rooms. There are gorgeous old pieces of furniture to look at, in our room an old wash stand and a sewing machine stand (not for use!). Everyone has their own out...

This BnB is run by a lovely couple, Gilles et Patricia, who will do everything they can to make your stay in their home perfect. Their gite is located in the countryside, surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The rooms are immaculate, and the bathrooms have excellent water pressure, hot water, and include the basic amenities such as a hair dryer, soap,...

This review is way overdue. I stayed here last spring with my husband and brother and we had a wonderful time, using this as our jumping off point for exploring the Loire Valley (specifically Saumur, Chinon, Bourgeuil, Vouvray, and the Chateaux of Chenonceau and Azay-le-Rideau). The main house is a beautiful historic structure and the cabins are cute, clean, and...

I visit the Loire Valley every summer and will always choose to stay here. This is was my second visit to Maison d'hotes La Chouanniere and thought to stay in the treehouse. I could see the Big Dipper in the sky from the window next to the bed at night and watch birds and listen to the trees rustling in...

Recommended! We were a couple spending three nights in Loire Valley (with car). The proprietors were kind, helpful (sympathique) and helped us to enjoy the region. The tranquillity was wonderful. We explored on their bicycles and enjoyed the hunting owls (in the tower in the photo) and the wild rabbits and birds. R&J (Irlande)

My husband and I stayed in the treehouse (La Cabane Perchee) and it was such a great experience. Don't be fooled into thinking that this type of accommodation would be similar to staying in a cabin with no amenities - the treehouse has a fully functional kitchenette, a fridge, a full shower and toilet! It was such a perfect setup...

A super B&B in a great location. Gorgeous setting with roses growing round the front and our own little outdoor space with table & chairs. The room was beautiful and scrupulously clean. We were in the end room and there were only two of us so we didn't use the upstairs: that would be great for older kids (the stairs...

Our room, should have been called a suite, was luxurious in every respect. There were separate rooms for toilet, shower, and lavatories (2). All was very clean.. Although there was a full house when we were there, our room was silent. We enjoyed the use of our private terrace watching the sun go down. Breakfast included home bread and pastries....

This is a most wonderful place to stay in the Loire Valley. We stayed here for 10 days and it was perfect. We had much interaction through email with the hosts, Patrice and Gilles, before we arrived and this was helpful. We had an extremely large room (part of it was a sitting room) with a very comfortable mattress. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Self catering Gites and Bed & Breakfast with swimming pool near the Chateaux of the Loire Your French hosts, Gilles and Patricia welcome you to their family home in the heart of the Natural Park of Loire-Anjou-Touraine, just a few miles from the river Loire, classified World Heritage by UNESCO. Set in the midst of natural forest and lakes, their charming 16th century house is built entirely of the local white stone 'Tuffeau' and retains many of its original features. This location in Anjou is an ideal place from which to discover the fantastic nature and culture of the area; the forests, the vineyards and of course, the chateaux of the Loire valley Their are four bedrooms available, all of which have been renovated by Gilles an Patricia to a very high standard, using traditional materials of the Anjou region such as white Tuffeau stone, natural hemp, slate and tiles (tomettes) from the village of Les Rairies. Patricia has decorated each room carefully, creating a typical French ambience with painted furniture and antiques. The rooms are all on the ground floor, which has its own entrance and garden lounge. The kitchen is at your disposal if you want to prepare your own meals. ... more   less
