Our party arrived after cycling all day to find the owner was not there to greet us. He had left someone in charge who didn't seem to know the ropes. We were told to put or bikes round the back of the house in an overgrown and untidy garden full of dog mess. The rooms were uninspiring. Beds looked like...

Stayed one night recently on a extended weekend of climbing. Bed was super comfy, room spacious, host was friendly without being over bearing. Breakfast was superb, quality food and freshly cooked which is unusual these days. Toilet made a bit of noise periodically but otherwise everything was excellent. BoG is a lovely quiet place close to the 'gorms, use to...

Once again, the Boathouse Guest House in Boat of Garten has been a home from home for me when visiting the Highlands of Scotland. I always use the Boathouse as a convenient base when on wildlife photography trips and I'm already planning on returning there next year. The Boathouse is warm, clean and comfortable with constant hot water. The radiators have...

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend at the end of January. Lovely friendly hotel in a small pretty village. We had a lovely big room overlooking the station with a huge bath at the window so you could look out at the amazing views. The staff were helpful and friendly. We ate In the restaurant on both...

OK if you want 5 start then get yer wallet out. If you want reasonably priced, pet friendly, quiet accommodation and a breakfast big enough to break most people, then this is a good choice. Basic accommodation, but the guy who runs it more than makes up for the frills this place is lacking. But you get what you pay...

First, on the plus side, the staff present were friendly and helpful, and the parking was great. The room was clean. So that counts for a lot already. The room was advertised has having a "four-poster" bed, but I think that a normal bed with a plain wooden frame above it, and no drapes, does not make a "four-poster". What...

Stayed at the Boat House for one night during canoe trip on the river Spey. I agree with the previous contributor that, for some people, there may always be a reason to complain but this really is quite a decent B&B. Shared bathroom facilities, bathroom was really clean. The room was fine, a double bed and the price was quite...
