My local pub for the past year... Somewhere I have spent many evenings! I can't fault the Wenty - the proprietors (chef and front of house) are wonderful. We get the deep-fried brie every time... I often have the soup of the day which comes with warm fresh bread... The pies are enormous and delicious, and the burgers often sell...

We were just passing and popped in for a quick lunch. Staff were really friendly. I ordered a bacon and Brie sandwich and him indoors ordered a beef sandwich. Excellent service, they arrived quickly. We got salad and chips with the sandwiches. So much bacon, really tasty. Loads of beef. Can't fault it. Excellent value. I couldn't eat it all.

Went for lunch today inviting friends to join us. We all ordered soup - tomato and basil. Told we were getting ciabattas with the soup but we were presented with a plate of the cheapest supermarket white rolls that looked as though they had been squashed at the bottom of the bad. We were told this was all they had...

Visited the Wentworth 2minutes from home, haven't been for a while, the changes made are fab, log fire and a very cosy feeling. The menu choice was very very good, I had prawn cocktail followed by Roast beef, yorkshire pud and a good selection of veg, it was delicious, as was the home made steak pie and Chicken and leek...

My wife and I stayed over for a night in room 2 which was the only room left when booking , and was a twin room. The room itself was nothing like the pictures on the pubs Web site. For a start it was dark and dingie, the shower was disgusting, mucky shower head and holder which was loose on...

Stayed one night in bedroom with ensuite shower room. Friendly welcome but accommodation lacked a professional cleaner. Had to ask for filthy shower curtain (weeks or months of grime/mould on it) to be removed. Dirt ingrained on bases of taps. Bedroom looked fine until I noticed a radiator not working, a light not working and a dirty coffee cup... Was...

Did not stay overnight but the food was excellent, staff and locals very friendly. Spoke to three couples who were staying over and they recommended the hotel. Ideal location in a great village just outside of York

Unassuming pub and well worth a visit for good traditional food, perfectly located for moors, coast and some great golf courses. Fish and chips are spectacular. Holly behind the bar is charm personified
