The location was perfect right accross from train station, adjacent to restaurants, cafés and shops. The breakfast, on the 6th floor that had beautiful views on mountains, was delicious and had lots of variety. The decoration was very nice. Sparkly clean. Although the type of single room was not that spacious, but the smart space management of the design didn't make it feel cramped at all. Finally, the staff, from reception to house keeping to waitresses of this hotel were very friendly and helpful. A special appreciation goes to Ms. Melanie Murmann and Ms. Kerstin Zumkemi who were so considerate by canceling the reservation of my last night without imposing the penalty charge, when I had to make an urgent alteration to my trip plan. Their gesture has left an even more positive note on this hotel. Would definitely come back! I've been in 3 star hotels before, but nothing compares to this concept. If I were their manager, I would export this concept of hotel chain worldwide!
Only one little thing on the down side! There were not enough TV English channels. Please add documentary, scientific, comedy, historical English TV channels for your various international guests. The only one I came across was a news channel.

We absolutely loved our stay. Everything, the friendly welcome, the room, and especially the breakfast were wonderful. The hotel is ideally situated close to the train station, as well as restaurants. The receptionist could not have been any more helpful in answering our many questions. We highly recommend the Baxter Hotel, Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our stay so enjoyable during challenging times.

Dog friendly hotel located in the adorable town of Visp, located across the street from the train station (easy walk with luggage).

This hotel has a good breakfast, the rooms are good with comfortable beds. The basic single room is small but still works well and has a balcony!

This hotel has a cafe in the same building (not part of the hotel) and there are lots of food options in town.

The closest green areas for the dog is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Please note that most of green areas within the old town area is not dog friendly. But the area close to the hotel (5 min walk) is dog friendly.

Visp is an adorable, walkable town with good dining options about an hour by rail to Zermatt. There is a well- preserved old town in Visp and thermal pools within 10 mins.

The staff here is extremely rude, extremely unprofessional and racist. They lie in order to avoid giving you services.

We were a group of people here on business for more than two months and it has been nothing but a headache.

They know exactly what group we are and we have been thrown out of the restaurant for no reason except for when they found out that we were foreigners and did not speak the native tongue.

Additionally, every once in a while we would get together in the lobby (behind closed doors) to conduct certain meetings where we had been told that you could drink, but not eat as long as you took the room before 9:00pm. We followed the rules and suddenly tonight we were there at 8:45pm and they kept denying us the room. When we asked why, they provided no answer and were just rude and non communicative.

We have seen other guests eat at the open lobby area and when we ask about it. The responses vary but we are never given the same treatment.

Additionally, they refuse Ice requests almost daily and when they actually give you ice they give you a bad attitude and a half empty ice bucket.

The service is so so bad, they change the administration and they are rude. They kick me out of the restaurant because we did not have a reservation and the restaurant was full of people from outside of the Hotel. I stayed in the hotel for a month and previous administration was better than this racist new personel.

What a pleasant surprise. We stumbled upon the Baxter Hotel when we missed a connection to Zurich and need a place to stay late at night. When we got to the front door Rachel greeted us as she was closing for the evening. She was so helpful trying to find us alternatives to get to Zurich. We ended up staying over night. She was simply amazing, bending over backwards to help us. The hotel is simple but nice, cute rooms and very comfortable beds. We all would love to come back and see Visp and see what the town has to offer and visit our lifesaver Rachel at the Baxter again. Nice place great people and right across of the train station. Highly recommend. You can’t go wrong.

This is what I would call a base hotel. We decided to depart on Friday night and thought the trip to Zermatt by train from Visp to Zermatt would be best in daylight so called Visp a base for the night. We arrived at about 9pm and managed a quick stroll around town, a drink in a cute square and then to bed.
The rooms were very clean but we selected it only for ease of access to the train station - across the road for quick and easy departure the next morning. At 195 CHF the dbl room is very very basic - and not a typical hotel I would typically stay at. It is overpriced for what it is but met our purpose purely from a convenience perspective. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. A warm shower, a clean bed and linen, but an old tired hotel that has had a spruce up and fresh coat of paint.

The breakfast was extensive and very adequate - I would have preferred to stay in Zermatt - but I think the morning ascent to Zermatt was spectacular and very exciting. Still think I would probably not stay here unless passionate about the view having never seen it before.

Be warned there are nosiy bars below - and with the wondows open - the noise of trains is loud also. The hotel was good enough to provide ear plugs which I used and managed a restful sleep.

I think from looking - there are very few choices for hotel's in town. Because it is clean - they charge much more than surrounding hotels. I would NOT recommend this for more than a base - but if budget is an issue - keep moving altogether. Zermatt is much prettier and infinitely better value than Visp, without a doubt. Definitely spend an extra night at the Unique Post Hotel in Zermatt in preference - and enjoy the views on the mountain.....by spending the extra on the gornergrat train!

I've stayed here quite a bit when travelling on business. It's a comfortable little hotel with a great staff. Rooms are on the small side though and I will be asking for one of the more spacious "business rooms" next time.

Steps from the train station, the hotel is in a very convenient location.

There was some difficulty checking in when I arrived as the hotel front desk staff was off property. They had someone cover the front desk from the restaurant, but this was a bit strange.

Rooms are now air conditioned which was great!

Nice little hotel, just opposite the main station in Visp. Although no noise problem in my room. Additionaly, in-ear-noise-dampers are available.
Bed was good, everything in good shape.
WLAN reliabe.
Bathroom also nice and clean, one ahndle vaves with good temperature adjustment.
Breakfast with all you need, different type of fresh coffee, extraordinary milk, croissant, bread, eggs, jam, cheese and ham, fruit salad, cereas.

Checking in and out is quick and efficient.
Unfortunately, I had no special needs!
For my business purpose it is the best - clean, silent, in the heart of Visp, near the train station, fine breakfast, good bed and nice staff..
