Make sure to try some of the local specialities when visiting Nusfjord. This well kept fishing village has a great variety of boating and fishing activities. You can learn how to fillet and prepare your own freshly caught skrei for dinner and enjoy the good kitchen with it's specialities from the sea. The rooms are simple but nice. Try the...

As part of our planning for our family trip to Norway, we wanted to experience the midnight sun. After alot of research, we learned about Nusfjord Heritage site and booked our reservation. We spent 3 night in one of the modern rorbuer, and immediately wished we had stayed longer. While the stay was not inexpensive, the cabin, the village, and...

We travelled in the end of August. That is already end of season. Wonderful place, great to learn about cod fishing, great to walk around, neat, and clean. We booked two cabins next to each other for five adults. So nice to sleep with the sound of water underneath.

The fishing village of Nusfjord, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nusfjord is one of the oldest and best preserved fishing villages in Norway. It is a must see and you will quickly become immersed in the history and wonder of the old fishing village and the industry.

Expensive lodging (USD200/night for a cabin with open loft sleeping arrangements requiring climbing up a ladder). Other accommodations can offer much better value, sleeping up to 10, mostly in single beds. All cabins are original fishermen living quarters on fishing piers that have been renovated. They have a kitchen, dining area + couch and armchairs and a single bathroom (even...

We were staying here as part of a Discover the World tour. Had a wonderfully spacious 6 person cabin at very end of the site (215), just for the 2 of us, probably as we visited at end of season. Possibly new, not refurbished? It felt a bit decadent, but had wonderful views of harbour entrance, mountains all around, best...

We stayed here for 3 nights in July. The resort is actually a true fishing village museum surrounded by mountains and the sea. The village has fantastic and enchanting location. It has really unique atmosphere. The surrounding hills provide great hiking routes and some of the most wonderful views. The location is perfect for exploring south Lofoten and the best...

The rorbu (a little flat in a tiny house near the sea) was quite standard. It had all you need for a short stay. A bit noisy, no network or TV. The service at the reception was quite ok as well, but should be better. The price was unreasonably high (dear Lofoten, be careful not to price you out of...

We were a party of 8 staying in the Levionbua (cabin no.26). The UNESCO preserved fishing village Nusfjord is an old fishing hamlet, and staying in one of the 50 fishermen rorbuer (cabins) was a privilege. My grandfather travelled with us. He was born in Uttakleiv, Lofoten in 1934, and has a lot of memories of this hamlet as he...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Experience an authentic fishing village (fiskevaer). In Nusfjord you can find most of the buildings which were part of one of Norway's eading fish buying stations of its time. Nusfjord has an intertwining building area, which evolved at the end of the 19th-Century and the beginning of the 20th-Century. Today we offer traditional rorbu cabins for lodging in authentic surroundings. The cabins have varying standards. CATEGORY A 1-2 bedrooms + living room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. CATEGORY A+ Brand new cabins (finished built spring 2007) with 2 bedrooms, living room with half lofts. Total capacity: 8 persons. CATEGORY B Sitting room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. CATEGORY C (Simple standard) Sitting room with balcony bedroom (4 bed spaces). Equipped kitchen. Short distance to shared shower and toilet facilities. No indoor water. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and final cleaning included. Nusfjord has its own general store, a cosy inn and a restaurant. Rent of a cottage includes a rowboat, with which you can bring in your own catch. Then, at the cleaning benches on the wharf is the place to be to exchange fishing yarns. To get there you leave the main Federal Highway 10, halfway between Napp and Ramberg. Then, for the next 6 kilometres the county road winds through a beautiful and dramatic landscape. Make your Lofoten visit with us and we will assure you that it will be a memory of a lifetime. Welcome! ... more   less
