We’d stayed quite a few times before , and it was always pretty good. This time though we booked the Presidential Suite as it was our lads 13th birthday and we had a small warm up football pitch before check in , so we had a kick about for an hour or so , with a few of his mates … ( we live pretty local)… the room is huge!.. great balcony with countryside views. Great breakfast too. We also used the executive lounge at night for a few drinks ( comp). it was ok , no atmosphere though. On the whole it was worth the splurge. Really enjoyed it.

After having a couple of issues at check-in, I would just like to shout out to Charlie in maintenance and the manager who worked incredibly hard and ensured every detail was taken care of to resolve our initial issue which could have been a massive let-down. For that reason, I've chosen to simply review the hotel based on the experience since then - Travelled in a part of 5 in 2 rooms. The rooms were nice and spacious and clean with nice little extras (music in the bathroom, mirrors with lights etc - just nice touches). The hotel complex itself is reaped in football history and heritage and as a huge football fan, it's hard not to get a little bit overwhelmed. England legends past and present walk through these doors and the hotel does well to capture the spirit of it. Lots of walks and football pitches to go an explore as well. We ate at the hotel for breakfast - Buffet style and lots of choice and even the fussiest amongst us were satisfied. Extra note, on the day of our check-out, I was watching the football and my daughter was hungry. Even though the bar and the restaurant was closed, the chef came and spoke to my mum and made my daughter a bowl of chips and could not be more caring. All in all, fantastic hotel and stay but especially enhanced by those mentioned who really helped to make this trip memorable for my daughters 8th birthday. …

Really good place to stay, great welcome on arrival, good sized room overlooking the countryside and river, choice of separate shower and bath and comfy bed, Breakfast has a great choice and well stocked. Our room didn't have USB ports and I'd forgotten to bring the usb plug / adaptor, called to the front desk and one was bought to the room which I returned on checking out. Really enjoyed our brief visit, would definitely recommend and return.

This is now our family go to weekend hotel with the next three visits already booked for later in the year. As a Hilton Diamond member, the hotel provides hot drinks throughout the stay. My only criticism is the poor quality drinks and food selection available in the Executive Lounge. My preference would be drinks and snack vouchers redeemable from the bar.

We decided to upgrade to a suite with a balcony as it was a nice treat for my wife who was unable to celebrate her 50th birthday properly due to crazy covid restrictions at the time. I downloaded the Hilton app as I was able to check in and it provided me with a digital key card which I liked. However we received a message about an hour before check in via the app asking me to physically check in at the hotel as some security measures and ID needed to be approved. After a quick check in which was easy and the staff member helpful and very pleasant, we went to our room. The suite was lovely. Quite large with a balcony looking out onto open fields. It was quite a long walk to get from reception though but I’m guessing this is to provide the views and the privacy for such a premium room? As we had access to the executive lounge area that provided some drinks and snacks, we went along to visit. A very nice man from Hong Kong showed us what we had on offer. Basically some bottled beers, house wines, cheese and biscuits, fruit, salad, nibbles and 2 items of hot food. I would of thought some basic spirits would be included and a proper cheeseboard and knife provided. The cheese was all mixed together which is a wholly incorrect practice given the smells, consistencies and flavours. Trying to manipulate and cut the cheese when it’s all mixed together on a small plate is just wrong. The crackers were all soft and not crispy at all. The appeared to taste “off” and should be checked and sampled by the lounge host and chef before serving. Lastly the lounge area is just too noisy. It should be in a separate quiet area away from the main reception area below, should be adults only and serve premium food and drinks. The hot food was just overdone and of very poor quality. We ate in the bar area on the first night. The sea bass was ok if a little overcooked, the potatoes were nice and my wife’s pizza appeared to have been cooked fresh and very tasty. Overall the food was of good quality but not outstanding. Now the reason I have only given the hotel a mediocre rating was predominantly due to a fire alarm that went off around midnight on the Saturday/ Sunday morning. We were fast asleep when we heard the alarm. Assumed it was an error so attempted to go back to sleep. As it persisted we decided to make our way to the exit and evacuation point. As we got to the closest and safest fire door we broke the seal to allow us to exit and went outside in our pyjamas. It was dark and extremely cold and eventually we made our way to the reception area that we believed to be the evacuation point. There were many people outside and many were in bedroom attire also very cold. There did not appear to anyone in control. I didn’t see any fire marshals for a long time when they should be out in force along with a competent manager taking charge of a potentially life threatening situation. There was also no one ensuring people were out of and evacuating their rooms. We could have stayed in our rooms and no one would have known we were there. Eventually some foil blankets were handed out to some people but just too little too late. After a further 15mins someone who appeared to be duty manger shouted that it was a false alarm and we could go back to our room. If this was a real fire the leadership and systems this hotel has are an absolute disgrace and I sincerely hope they never have a real fire to contend with or lives will be lost. The breakfast was another disaster. Long queues for hot food, no tables available (9:30am on a Sunday) but a whole room cordoned off for a second rate women’s football team taking up less than half of the tables which meant paying guests were forced into the bar area to eat. The hot food was quite undercooked and there was no one available to ask for sausages and bacon to be rather more “done”. They also ran out of mushrooms for about 15minutes. Not acceptable at all. The waiting staff at breakfast also looked unhappy and disinterested. The hotel is huge with some lovely walks to be had around the grounds. Some staff members did appear friendly but overall the mood didn’t seem that harmonious. Massive improvements required for guest safety and current practices must be urgently reviewed and improved before a disaster, a death or the burning down of the hotel. Also review the location and offerings for the executive lounge. Will need to see major improvements before we will return.…

We stayed at the Hilton St George's Park following a wedding. We were able to leave our bags with the concierge before our check in time which was very helpful. The room was very comfortable; we had the best night sleep for a long time! The shower was amazing with the exception of the black mould around the inside of the unit and underneath the shower head holder. The breakfast was the biggest let down. The buffet was poorly stocked and we didn't get items we asked for. Avoid getting conned out of 14 quid per person for that!

We had room 216 overlooking the trees in the large courtyard. It was an average-sized room in mostly brown, slightly dated decor. The bathroom had a good shower and separate bath but horrible taps hidden under a small shelf, which splashed everything no matter how careful you were! Breakfast was an excellent buffet with really tasty bacon, fried potatoes and hash browns, fried eggs etc. Service very friendly and good. Interesting place to stay because of the connections with the England football teams and the lovely countryside setting.

We attended a charity ball which has been excellent in previous years (in a number of locations in St George’s in the past too). There were 2 options on the main and none on starter or dessert. The pea and mint soup was better than it sounded. The chicken main was very nice but one small carrot and a tsp of greens wasn’t much in the way of veg. The chocolate dessert was ok but needed cream or something as far too rich. No coffee at the end. Having preordered wine and beers it was great they were on the table…but not so great we couldn’t open them. We asked 3 times before and during starter and still staff didn’t provide an opener OR open the bottles. Went to the bar to ask and we’re told by the bartender he’d get a corkscrew only for him to wander off and start serving people. Asked AGAIN and eventually got one. Starter was served at 7pm. Dessert at about 9.45. The room was COLD with air conditioning on too low. A number of people (not just our table) asked for it to be altered but it wasn’t. Overall a disappointing experience in a lovely location.…
