My husband and our three children spent three nights at Kennicott last July. We splurged and decided to go all inclusive. Our experience at Kennicott will last a lifetime. Breakfast each morning was served buffet style. It was delicious and hearty. Perfect fuel to get ready for a full day of hiking and other adventures in Wrangell-St. Elias. For lunch,...

If you enjoy the adventure of visiting a very unique destination, Kennicott Glacier Lodge just might be the number one destination in Alaska. Other hotel owners mentioned that Kennicott Glacier Lodge is respected as the very best. Yes, it is remote. Yes, it lacks 5 star rooms with fancy furnishings. But how many places in the world allow the visitor...

We stayed three nights at the lodge in a room with a shared bath down the hall. The room was small but served our purpose. We never had to wait for a shower or bathroom. Our dinner meals were served family style which provided good opportunity to meet other people. The breakfast was a buffet. The food for both meals...

We took the most expensive room on the new wing. indeed excellent. They promised wifi in the lobby of the old wing, which they delivered - very bad, and after 10 pm they locked the entrance for the new wing customers. We had a cellular plan on AT@T, which doesn't work at all at the lodge. For the money we...

Dear tommy1762, Thank you for taking the time to review our Lodge. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your room in the South Wing. Kennicott Glacier Lodge is a remote Lodge and many of our Guests choose to “unplug” during their visit in order to better enjoy this spectacular part of Alaska. We do offer free, limited internet...

We had lunch here while we were in the park. There were nice views of the old company town from the restaurant. Food was good and service was excellent. We were only there for the day but it looked like it would be a nice place to stay.

We stayed at the Kennicott Glacier Lodge the last 2 nights of their 2016 season, September 9 and 10. This place was unlike any place we have ever stayed, and that is a good thing!! We stayed in the main lodge building, which meant no on suite bathroom or shower. We knew this going in, and were ok with it....

So much history I would return again and again. The only service for phone is Verizon which helped me to close my mind off to the world and just enjoy nature. Family dinner was amazing to be with others and share many stories of history. Amazing pictures of all the Kennicott children.

I booked a package at the Kennicott Glacer Lodge that included a round trip flight with Wrangell Mountain Air, two nights in a room the South Lodge and three square meals a day. This was planned as a highlight on a "bucket list" Alaska trip with my husband. The experience met our expectations ... and then some. The setting is...

Really comfortable large rooms with very good dinners that rotate each night to meet new friends. Kennicott is an old copper mine adjacent to a glacier that is within easy hiking distance (2-3 km). There are guided tours of the glacier, and also of the old village including the copper mine. To get there you take Wrangel Air from Chitina...

If you're into adventure, remoteness, awesome scenery, history, and nice, interesting people, Kennicott should be on your must-do list. As with most worthwhile to see places in Alaska, it can be a trek to get there, but that can also be half the fun, right? After driving much of the day (btw, the unpaved road is no big deal, and...
