Excellent vegetarian breakfast, including Scottish specialities like (vegetarian) haggis and tattie scones (potato cakes). Very welcoming & helpful management, who stayed up for our late (11:30) arrival. Short taxi ride from airport, yet quiet and worlds away from usual faceless airport hotels. Clean and comfortable rooms. If I were to travel to Inverness again, I would definitely want to stay...

We were struggling to find somewhere to stay in the area & rang the gun lodge after some online searching. Boy were we glad we did, we had a warm welcome & were shown to our room. Think one of the stairways is in the middle of being redecorated, & we were a little skeptical of what the room itself...

We called in last night for a meal. The place was empty. We were served quickly (unsurprisingly) I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio but i am doubtful that is was it was. My partner order the roast and he said it was quite good i ordered the breadcrumbed haddock and chips but requested no salad. When the meal arrived...

I am sorry that you feel you had a bad experience when you visited us for dinner, I am not sure what was wrong with the wine, I personally hand pick the wines and they are of a very high standard from a reputable company, If you ordered a pinot grigio thats what you would have been served, If it...

Staying at B&B nearby: sent here as the only place to eat in walking distance. This may not seem a great recommendation, but we were very well fed; they were able to cope with some dietary restrictions willingly and well. Food well served and of good standard. Might be wise to book - particularly in high season - as we...

My partner and I travelled to Scotland for her birthday to go dolphin watching at Spey Bay. We settled on a stay at The Gun Lodge and were very pleased to get allocated a lovely room with a mahoosive bed and a wet room downstairs. Throughout our stay the staff were wonderful, we really appreciated the welcome they afforded us....

We were staying at the nearby B&B, just 50 yd down the road. We had an excellent dinner, and the staff were very helpful. We had the special of the day, venison steak and it was superb. We also decided to wait 15 minutes or so to have a freshly baked apple crumble- the best apple crumble I have had...

Overall Sunday lunch very good value . Whisky menu is outstanding also and very reasonable . The bar attendant / waiter was very patient with the kids and informative about the whisky . Portions were big especially the Sunday roast. Fairly limited menu but quality food. Will return. Overall a relaxing exoerience.

we were staying at a nearby B&B and the Cromal restaurant was recommended to us, so off we went.... it was 7.30 in the evening and the young man behind the bar was most abrupt and unhelpful, was told they had a party of 10 just about to order and they could not accomodate us for food (only 2 of...

Thank you for your comments, I am a bit bewildered however because on this night in question I was working as well as my young assistant and to my knowledge we fed everyone who walked in without booking before the big table came in. We pride ourselves in the standard of food we produce and like to treat each table...

Seriously the smokers shack here is great, soft seats, yes soft seats I said, interesting heavy duty carpentry work, some LED lighting going on, beautiful smoke there on a nice day with your wide choice of local beers. I think there should be a separate section for excellence in smoke shacks this would be a contender!

Thank you for your comments on our smoking shed, yes not many places have one like this and it is a lovely place to sit whether you smoke or not.
