dropped in here quite late and was pleased to find they were still serving and had a table free. Nice smallish menu and a specials board but we opted for the steak pie with vegetables, chips and potatoes and it was first class as was the service from the man behind the bar and the waitess. If I am in... More

Found this pub after failing to find our preferred choice...and it was a brilliant find. We had dinner in the small restaurant...linen tablecloths! Our party was really happy with their menu choices...Madeira Chicken...Mushroom Stroganoff...and chips fried in vegetable oil (rather than the more popular but pungent beef dripping prevalent in the Yorkshire area...vegetarians beware!).

Having been let down elsewhere, the friendly team at The Blacksmiths Arms were so helpful at 8.55 pm. Our table was reserved, we ordered quickly and enjoyed a fabulous meal. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and we made the most of "steak night" blackboard specials, which were excellent value for money! The quiz night was... More

Group of us stayed for one night while down for a cycle race in Scarborough. No issue with stay at all, staff could not have been more helpful (especially tall, dark haired lady ). Had dinner too, and food was pretty good too. Rooms nice, comfortable beds.

First time of staying in a pub, and would definately stay again. Some hotels could take a leaf out of their book, very friendly and helpful staff, with excellent local knowledge. Breakfast served in the dining room and very well cooked, we also ate in the bar at night and the food was also excellent. Stayed in one of the... More

The accommodation and food were both first class. The staff were very efficient and friendly, and ticked all the boxes. I stayed with my wife and some friends while we finished The Cleveland Way, and we could not fault our time there.

My wife and i stayed here for four nights to allow us plenty of time to travel to various locations around Scarborough. Blacksmiths Arms turned out to be a a wonderful experience in itself. Our room was spacious and very clean, although the sani-flow toilet discharge could be a bit noisy. Our room was close to the road but it... More

Stayed here after day 1 of walking the Cleveland way. The Inn is about 1-mile from the actual Cleveland way path. My room was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and a bath to soak those tired legs in. Tea & coffee facilities are in the room and the heating(which was needed) was good. We enjoyed dinner in... More

It's better than average, but not good enough to be very good. Although it's nearly very good. Decent meals, very good breakfast,,,,rooms OK....no.... a bit better than that, Nice pub atmosphere, good ale. I've changed my mind, there was nothing wrong with it.
