An impromptu trip, done right! We chose to visit Karatu Simba Lodge because of it's proximity to Ngorongoro National Park and it's high recommendations from friends and family ! When we first arrived at the lodge, we were warmly greeted with fresh juices and warm towels. Following Covid-19 precautions, all staff were wearing masks. Furthermore, social distancing marks were put in place. We were asked to sanitize our hands and our temperatures were checked before we entered the reservation area. Once we checked in, we decided to go and check out the outside deck. As soon as I opened the sliding glass window, all I saw was a beautiful view of the forest and the farmlands. Words cannot explain how beautiful this view was! The rooms were very spacious. I was particularly impressed with the view from the room. The large sliding glass doors enabled us to look at the forest and farm lands from our beds. To keep us warm at night, the staff placed hot water bottles under our blankets. This made us feel extra special! What amazed me the most was how delicious the food was at the lodge. My favourite was the variety of salads that the lodge had to offer with our meals. The salads were refreshing and scrumptious! After finishing up our meals, we got the opportunity to take our coffee/tea to the fireplace which is next to the deck. Staying warm next to the fire whilst listening to the sound of animals made me realize how surreal the wildlife really is! What highlighted my trip at Karatu Simba Lodge was the delicious food, the amazing views of the forest and the peacefulness that surrounded the lodge. It felt like I was home away from home! Highly recommend!!…
Such a beautiful lodge with amazing views (you can also hear the wildlife at night which is fantastic). Food was great and catered for vegetarians. Staff were very welcoming and the rooms were spotless.
We had an excellent stay at the Simba Karatu Lodge. The lodge is beautifully done and it’s led by a team that absolutely understands hospitality, service and standard. It’s sooo clean and well kept. We stayed a total of 3 nights and we were totally amazed at how well we were looked after. The food quality, servings and presentation was amazing. Baraka is the heart of the restaurant and he never missed a moment to make us smile. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It’s a beautiful location and there is no better place to relax and rest than at simba karatu. The Ngorongoro crater was an hours drive from the lodge and Lake manyara even closer. The picnic lunch provided by the lodge was complete and sumptuous. Thankyou Gerald, the lady at the front desk, the manager of the lodge, baraka the two trainee ladies at the restaurant for everything that you did for us and more!! Ahsante sana!! What an amazing surprise with the birthday cake and celebrations you all organized for our father during check out!! Keep up the good work and all the very best!! …
So serene n peaceful. We loved every bit of our stay there. From the welcome drink, to the rooms, to the scenery, to the dining hall, to the friendly ever helpful staff... The list goes on n on on... Definitely always choosing simba lodge when in karatu
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast and dinner buffet food were well prepared. It was the best food we had out of 3 different lodges. The view was beautiful and the tent was big. It had everything you’d need with the exception of a hair dryer, but that was expected. The hot water shower was also good and lasted at least 20 mins. Wifi speed was sufficient but unfortunately did not reach the rooms. My only complaint is the lunch boxes could include more hot food, as there was only one patty and the rest were bread, peanuts, apple, banana, cookie, cake and chocolate. Regardless, the lodge was the best one we stayed in compared to Eileens Trees Inn and Osero Serengeti Tented Lodge.
