We visited Arundel castle and then spent the night in Amberley Castle. The whole place is wonderfully atmospheric with charming helpful staff. We loved our room for its comfort and beauty. Our room was called Herstmonceux and had its own battlements accessed by a little door beyond which was a private flight of stairs to the battlements. The food was...

This is a stunningly beautiful ancient monument which has a Tudor home at its heart that is now a very well presented hotel. Afternoon tea here is perfect. A tier stand with sandwiches and cakes exactly as it should be. The grounds are stunning and I would highly recommend coming here

Stayed in Amberley Castle for my 60th Birthday. We could not fault anything. The hotel, grounds, food and staff were all excellent which made my special day very memorable. We will definitely be visiting again sometime in the future.

Four of us visited Amberley Castle for afternoon tea. On arrival the Castle and grounds are stunning. However we found the sandwiches and cakes very average. Also the atmosphere was poor in the dining room. We felt we had to talk in hushed tones. A bit of background music would help. Also the attentiveness of the staff was not great....

Amberley castle is a wonderful experience, a historic building with a warm welcome from the staff. It has a perfect mix of authentic décor but with the modern clean 5 star comforts yet still personal and welcoming. Lovely well kept gardens within the inner castle walls and also outside, all in a beautiful setting. The restaurant was a complete surprise...

It's like a real-life Hogwarts; an ancient curtain-walled castle with lovely ruins in the beautiful grounds and very pleasant bedrooms in Tudor buildings inside the wall (there are also a couple of rooms in the old dairy, just outside the walls by the dry moat). Two white peacocks strut around the grounds inside the walls and the nature of the...

We went to Amberley castle for my brothers wedding, we had an amazing time. The staff were brilliant and so helpful and the castle was such a beautiful setting for the wedding. My wife and I stayed in the Wilfred room and it was a great room with an amazing four poster bed. We loved it there and the food...

This was a surprise present from our Daughters; accommodation at the Castle and we stayed in the Chichester suite. What a wonderful gift. The room was absolutely luxurious and the staff were so friendly which made our stay feel very special. If you do go keep an eye out for Bob the white peacock who certainly is the guvnor there...

The castle was erected as a 12th-century manor house and is beautiful though relatively small as castles go. It is a hotel and restaurant so you can spend your whole day and evening here. Some of the rooms have their own exits to the embattlements, allowing you to watch the sunset in the privacy of your room. I would not...

Visited with my 5 year grandson who is doing a school project on knights and castles. Just wanted to take a few outside photos but met Steven the head gardener who very kindly showed us round the grounds, gave us lots of interesting information (5 year old boys are particularly interested in seeing where the baddies were kept prisoner and...
