After being told by the original place that we booked that they had no reservation for us they tried to get us alternative accommodation alas we should have stayed in a tent would have been more welcoming. The rooms are not nice, pokey toilet takes ages for the hot water to run and the room was very cold even though...

This is a well kept and clean B&B with a great home-cooked breakfast. We stayed for 2 nights. Cheryl (the owner) seemed to have only put the heating on just before we arrived because the bedrooms were a little chilly. It's a 15-20 min walk to the old harbour from there but well worth the walk for the bars there....

Although the owner had to be out when we arrived, she assured us that someone would be there to let us in. This was not the case and after 10 minutes of ringing the bell and telephoning, we gave up and went off to have dinner in the town, although we had intended to change and shower in the B...

We booked this through the Tourist Information Office and it turned out to be a great choice. The house is a large detached villa, set in large grounds, near the top of the hill above Stonehaven Bay. It dates back to the beginning of the last century and retains many of its original features. The room, a double, was spacious,...

I stayed for a week at Pitgaveney recently while I was on family business in Portlethen. Everything was spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. I hadn't had a full Scottish breakfast in years and Cheryle gives you a breakfast that will see you through a big part of the day. Cereal, sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, fried tomato,...

We booked this b&b through visitscotland, and we don't regret our choice. The rooms were spacious and the beds wonderfully soft. Cheryle was real friendly and if you had any problems or questions she solved them immediately. You have to be aware that you live in a person's home, though, it is not a hotel, which means that Cheryle can't...

Three friends and I stayed with Cheryle at Pitgaveny for a week and all of us had a wonderful time. Stonehaven is picture perfect, and Pitgaveny was certainly one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed at. The house is perfectly decorated, and the rooms were comfortable and extremely good value for money, not to mention the breathtaking views...
